I'll probably buy my entry ticket on the day Cleeski, if that's ok, as I won't be going on track if I bring ol' whitey.
Then again, I missed out on track attack action last year as well. Hmmm...
Cheers Sukhi mate
If I can get some drives and/or pax laps, that'll be the best of both worlds
It's an rtoc day after all, hence no place really for the Evo, and would be nice to turn up to our ND in a Renault motor.
Hoping to blag a pax lap or 3 in that 26.r
Yea, no worries dude, you're more than welcome, I'll just keep the missus distracted as its her car
I'm sure you will squire
Edit.
Whilst it's in my possession.
Mart, I've only been back 5 mins and I'm having to kick your arse again. Stop the excuses and get on track.

Cheers matey, would defo love some pax laps in the R as I'm tempted to get one...well, in a few years time when/if the price of them come right down.
Don't suppose they'd let me loose behind the wheel of it for a few (dozen ) laps per chance?

Mart great idea...Think ill bring LM1, drill bits etc aswell..
I'm not waiting for a pay day, i'm waiting till I get a fresh mot on the car i'm putting on track. I've been battling rusty nuts and seized ball joints this evening.
First post!
I just joined RTOC just to go on this lol my mate with a 5 Turbo asked if I fancied it and couldn't resist for the price! Afraid I don't own a Renault tho anymore, used to have a mk1 Clio 172 and a Clio RT, but after the 172 blew 2 gearboxs after track abuse I got rid.
Now have a 306 GTi-6 with a few tweaks, stripped, RR at 150bhp ATW before tweaks, prob around 180-190bhp at the fly now, good fun, only done 3 ring trips and Bedford track in this so look forward to Mallory!
See you all there.
Whats the max cars allowed on the track?
There's a simple solution to that ...Members with Renault Turbos get off their arses and buy a ticket ......I think we've got about 30 Ren Turbo .
I've only put the info out to Renault clubs but I can't stop people joining and buying a ticket and anyone can register a shop account .
Looks like im going to have some busy times ahead of me then. Need to sort out this smoking problem hope it dont rain this weekend else I might as well just bring the convertible again to go around the track if I have the money.
Still need to work out where this smoke is coming from. I know the stem seals have lifted, however after a heavy run it starts smoking out loads, then it stops for a while, it seems to have been getting worse somebody said about the oil return is blocking up so oil is not going through the turbo well and then pushing out the exhaust. But would this cause smoke to come out the air filter though? Or is it something worse on my car which is causing the smoke everywhere. Any ideas else its going to be a see what I find as I start taking things off.
Been a member for 5 years have attended every National day since then have two renault 5gtt which are currently in the process of being restored so will bring the Clio is there a problem with this or are RTOC making enough money on this event so non 5gtt are allowed on track
When are you going up Bod?
*sigh*
You own a Renault, and you've been a member of this club for a long while.
I mentioned non-rtoc esque motors, and free-loaders simply joining the club just to have a cheapy trackday.
Neither of which are applicable to you.
In my humble opinion, which will no doubt be shot down in flames, the ND should've been about Renault/Renault turbo motors/rtoc members, and not about the club having to sell vast number of tickets to joe public just to break even/make a profit/whatever.
The club ISN'T a business, therefore it isn't imperative that we make money on the day. Annual memberships and event entry/other fees should be enough to keep the coffers topped up each year.
If it isn't, we should've been looking at alternative ways of increasing the nest-egg ages ago.
Yes in a perfect world that would be just dandy but how long do you think the club could suffer the loss of Pod and Mallory ? ...2k loss from Pod wasn't it ?
We can shut out non-members but surely the best way to do that is for the Members to buy up the tickets .....
They've been on sale for two months now and we've shifted 38 for track .
No the club is not a business but it can't continue to lose on every event .Event entry will cover the cost but only if people buy the feckin tickets .....
Pisses me right off when people start moaning about things that are well within their power to change .
If you don't want non Renault Turbos on track at National Day then I expect to put in a full day tomorrow processing the orders

Don't see the issue of anyone going myself, end of the day the RTOC members hear about it first on this forum and get there fair shot, the fact other cars are there doesn't detract from RTOC members meeting each other, enjoying the track and day. Just because I don't own a Renault Turbo and I'm attending in another French car doesn't mean I'm not interested in Renault Turbos, far from it, I've been a member of Renault Sports Club for 9 years and been in every Renault turbo you can imagine, I've a massive interest in them but choose to drive something else! I've been in Clios running 350bhp VAG Turbo lumps, driven 5 Turbos and all sorts.
Anyho, looking forward to the trackday, should be good fun. I'll be in convoy with my mate who owns a 5 Turbo :P
Who's moaning? The comments were my humble opinion, that's all, and it was said in general, not pin-pointing.
It's exactly the same as saying I wouldn't want to go to an RSOC ND and see Saxo's, Pug's, BMW's, even Renault's, etc, making up a third or whatever of the attendance figures.
Again, my humble opinion is that we shouldn't worry too much about how much money we lose at an event, if that is the case. To my knowledge I don't think we've ever made a profit at any previous ND's/Pod days, but here we are in 2009 still plodding along ok.
Obviously as long as the coffers are still looking rosy (which they are at the moment anyway, correct me if I'm wrong) and are enough to fund the next given event, whatever that should be, then what's the problem? If that scenario should ever change, then of course the club needs to look at other avenues of keeping the money pot topped up.
Don't start that 'humble opinion ' stuff ..I've seen Talladaga Nights
My comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular .
The fact remains that the tickets are on sale and are available to members at a discounted rate .If the paid members chose not to buy them then
they can hardly complain if a few non Renault owning members turn up .
I'm sure a few very long serving members will turn up in non Renaults .......................
