I'm after single throttle body from 45mm up to 50-52mm. Cable not electronic flap that has full range TPS. Which cars have all the above? MG 160 maybe? Vauxhall? Ford?
What about Saxo VTS/106 S16? They have more sensors if I'm right?
Thanks

Try a mk4 ford fiesta 1.4 zetec,it has a full range TPS but its only a 40mm body but thats about right for a C1J as far as I can tell, the 50mm I'm using makes town driving a right pain in the butt
Thanks for the advice
What are approx prices for new one in UK?
Ain't got a clue, try a local scrapyard, thats where I got mine from, shame I sold it really, you coulda had it
Thanks mate but I'm little it off your hand
Will go for the new one...
ok dude but there's gotta b a scrappy near u, I paid 5quid for mine, ford will charge somit silly for 1
Will check. What about Bosch injectors? Somebody mentioned they are "slow"...
I suspect they said they are "low" (impedance). If you ballast them to use them with an ECU meant for high impedance injectors then you will slow down their response. They'll still work though.
As for T.B. sizes, any problems with progression with a big one (ooh-er!!) can be sorted out on the linkage. Within reason (ie not those daft 4" ones off ebay) big is best...
Yes, yes, you refreshed my memory. I didn't have in plan low impedance from the beginning.
Thanks Big Jim

you looking for something along these lines
is this any use

RICHIE, Im already in phase of negotiations for some sweet things from that pic
Adam, thanks for the info. Will take a look at 40mm Zetec one and this one in person and see what should be better/easier to fit. Found 48mm one off Rover. Looks pretty good too.

Don't go more than 40mm, I've heard this alot. I havboth a 40mm Mondeo item and a 50mm body for when I get on with the fuel injection sde of my EFI. You just don't need >40mm with a 1.4 lump. what is the maxBHP through a standard carb? And thats 25mm? From what I've read, if you go big, top end will be more achieveable but limited anything other than the TB, but bottom end will be very twitchy as Oli said. I'll see how I get on with me 40mm body, but I think I'll be on the lookout for something a little smaller.
AFAIK standard throat size on inlet manifold is 35mm. No?
Thanks Andy
Andy & Os8472 are talking about venturi on the carb and Andrew & I about butterfly on the bottom of the carb and opening on the inlet manifold...

Why-oh-why would you want to go to the trouble of fitting EFI and then undo all the good (well, some of it!) by putting a bloody restrictor back in???? Fit something that will give you a negligible pressure drop at full chat and then play with your linkage to give you good low speed control...... Even look at some later T.B.'s (Vauxhall and VW spring to mind) which have shaped innards to give good progression with simple linkages.
To second what jim says, if you are only goint to fit 40mm then whats the point ? 50mm won't be un-drivable, thats what you want assuming its for C1J.

I´m just fitting a F7P throttle body to a selfmade intake manifold which has both 35mm and 52mm sized holes. The 35mm opens first about 60 deg and then the larger one opens as well.
Maybe something similar would allow decent idle and low rpm without too much restriction at high rpm? Or am I completely wrong with this? We shall see..

yes, that´s the one.
