Hi mate I can't make the 20th April, but will look out for other events. The underside is looking good now. She can't be far off complete.....
iv never been to callington although i have heard jethro mention it on a few of his stand up dvd's haha
i absolutely love it down your way and would move there in a heartbeat if i ever lost my job up here
Ha, Jethro. Only about 20 mins or so from his place. Went once many years ago. Not really my bag tbh but he does seem to have a following!
It's ok down here, slower pace of life, less pay, maybe lower cost of living on the whole.
Just seems to be always wetland windy for the last few years
nothing much to report we was going refit turbo and manifold but not had any time , then apart from a strip down of exterior trim etc its then ready for paint shop
had a good morning on the car today, got most of the bits back together, turbo, carb and related bits,manifold/downpipe etc etc only a couple of bits left to connect back up then its time to prime the turbo and fire her up
i bloody forgot take a picture of the engine after all things were back in place
Looking good andy, still wanting a passenger ride in this btw as we didn't have time at last rolling road day a wgt
cheers andy we are getting there should be started up next week
passenger ride anytime fella ill be up wgt at some point this summer again
fingers crossed going get a few more hours in on the car this weds, and might even have it fired up
just hoping when it goes in for paint its not there for ages as id love have it ready before end of may
big very pleasing update
my car is now back alive and running sweet as a nut i can now start to see the light at end of the tunnel
Whens it BIG BOOST TIME..
Hopefully before june mate
popped around the garage on my way between jobs today, drivers door is now fitted, i also started the car and my god it sounds so much better back on the oe manifold, must say the longlife 2.5" system sounds sweet.
just waiting on hearing back from the painter now as to when he can get my car in fingers crossed its asap
heard back off the painter and not good news ad he cant even think about getting my car in for at least 4 weeks cba wait that long so going try a couple of other guys i know
Looks good mate you dont hang about
cheers chris, just gotta wait on hearing back from the painters now
hoping to get my soundsystem all wired in sometime soon, dont worry its no big chavvy subs etc etc, just a nice 800w amp, 6.5" components in the front and set of 550w 7x10 speakers for the rear, i like nice clear crisp sounds and if i can get it sounding like my old system in the mg ill be very happy
bit of an update
got another painter coming to look at the car this saturday, only thing is i wont be around as im at noble for the rolling road day, no probs though as my mate knows exactly what i want doing.
fingers crossed all is well and we can get the ball rolling asap
big update on my car, just heard back from the painter and he can get my car in within the next 2 weeks fingers crossed it will be back on road before start of june happy days
small update, iv just bought brand new clear side repeaters and clear front indicators, looking into getting new front headlights and rear light clusters as well.
as said before all these little things add up to bring it all together
also received my replica decals from the rtoc group buy and i must say they are absolutely fantastic, massive credit to the guys who have sorted this one for us
went up to my car after work, cleaned the seats up ready to give them a coating of red dye tomorrow morning, nice cheap alternative to forking out for a new set
also fitted new external window seal/rubber to drivers side whilst i was there, (thanks to mike for quick delivery again)
Stop updating Andy , get fixing and get it ready for Nat Day !
just waiting on the painter now mate, its ready to go in as soon as he says so
nevermind nat day i want it ready before pageant of power in mid june
had a really productive morning working on my car, got a first coat of dye on the front seats, then decided to set the fuelling/idle up.
Took quite a while as it was running a bit groggy and kept cutting out, was really lean so whipped carb off and fitted a new base gasket thanks to Ash Findler (redoctober).
put it all back together had a bit of a fettle and got it idling/running sweet, idles bang on 1k with afr of 14.2-14.5.
Satisfying isn't it.
Good job Andy
You need to jump on the bang wagon and buy a set of these to go with all your new lights! Does them in clear too.

haha defo not fella, iv actually overspent a bit on it this month and its going in for paint very soon
big happy update
had a phone call off my mate yesterday who has informed me that my car will be going in next week for painting looks like ill be living on beans on toast in june lol.
will also be fitting the replica rtoc group buy decals so once done ill get plenty of pics
Look forward to seeing it m8!
you and me both fella, iv got tomorrow off work so i might go up and do a bit on it
well i can now confirm that my car is going in to be painted next tuesday were nearly there now so bring on the summer
The car is now at the paintshop just called round to drop my camera off so he can take pics of all progress wtc. He also assured me it would be ready for june so it looks like cholmondeley pageant of power will be itsfirst outing.
so iv got today off work and am going head up to the paintshop to drop a couple of little bits off, i will report back on if anything has been done yet later on.
i popped up to paintshop yesterday in between jobs they are really cracking on with it and he tells me it should be finished back end of next week or very early the following week.
iv had to order a few more bits, passenger rear arch kit/drivers underlight trim/front grill and all required bits to refit kit.
sorry no pics as iv left my camera with them so there will be a load of pics to upload once its done
update
i popped around bodyshop on way from work, not much more been done but he tells me hes back on it tomorrow and should be done by end of next week, im not holding my breath too much and have actually told him dont worry if its not done for cpop in june as i dont want him rushing it
so i received the last bits from mike on friday and popped up to paintshop to drop them off, still no more had been done on my car so im not too confident of it being ready for cpop on the 15th this month.
All the best mate hope all goes well down the paint shop!
cheers kial im off work after monday next week only problem is im busy restoring a friends narrowboat so i wont have time go up to paintshop see how they are getting on.
i went up to see if any progress had been made on my car and a bit had been done, he tells me it will be in primer on saturday, so iv now resigned myself to the fact that my car wont be ready in time for pageant of power next weekend .
Even is the paint is finished at some point next week its still got to be m.o.t'd and taxed plus need to fine tune the fuelling all of which i will have no time to do due to being at work, ideally it needed be ready for at the latest this weekend so i could of sorted all of the above
Keep up the good work mate
Nevermind matey! It's so close to been finished pal, you've done a cracking job so far, as above keep up the good wrk buddy
