Christ Dave?!
That looks a monster?! Can't believe how far the engine is in the body?! I'm guessing from the tubular chassis that their's not much Fiesta lurking around anymore!
Excellent job!

Thanks for the kind words guy's..
Picking it up next week. Then we'll be on with wiring, plumping etc. Should be out early next year (funds permitting of course lol)
Looks amazing Dave
i've got a complete K9K with all ecu's and UCH, 2 keys, loom, gearbox, turbo etc etc
ideal to put into a GTT
You could get that out of the J7R for less wonga.
I want to F4R my 9 Turbo but i'm dilemma-ing over keeping the original lump as its so rare.
The front engined 4x4 one went up in flames and was robbed of its drivetrain and dumped in a scrappy. The Mid Engined RWD one belongs to a member.
I put a R21T J7R 752 into the back of a GTA.... far better lump than that beastly V6 lump of pig iron [opens can of worms]
I have a 250bhp, 21 Turbo powered Fuego....that was a great idea. Mental, made of tinfoil, but great.
A few years ago I thought it'd be ace to take the NA 12 valve head from the R21TXi and whack it on the Turbo block. I'm still building it now
Saying that though when it's done it should be 'potent' in my Quadra.
One thing I need to do before my spannering years are through is build something twin engined, with turbos. I fancy a couple of J7R lumps in a R21, tbh, with a nice spaceframe at the back.

I remember seeing the Fuego at the Jamsport RR day years ago, a few people having to sit on the wings to hold it on the rollers
Has anyone got a few pic's of the front engined 4x4 cossie 5 in it's hey day?

post number 28
Twin engined Hyabusa Turbo lumps in a 5 shell
never had the skills but if i did it would have to be a honda b16 engine in a gtt
You can fit the injectors and they will run without coding. Coding is just for a more accurate injection pattern/amount.
Back in my classic mini days I wanted to put a C1J in the front, I do believe Markey Mark did a rear engined C1J'd mini
Smart coupe with a powertec v8.
2 litres and 40valves?
I wish I had a go, I had a written off GT as a donor too
Has anyone seen the C1J powered 3 wheeler caravan? think there is a video of it on youtube.

I don't think a Pulsar gti-r conversion would be that hard, the engine and box is no bigger than a F7R/P and it sits the right way too, a tunnel would have to be put in for the prop or just use the pulsar floor. I don't think it would be hard to mount the rear axel either.

Must be a total weapon!
I did do the C1J conversion in the back of the mini, wasn't the prettiest thing on the planet but it worked.
It felt like the front end was light and thats why we had issues with rear end twitching but it ended up being the rear wheels steering abit.
All we did was weld the steering racked to the subframe at the point where the steering column joins, we left the trackrods ends and steering rack standard. The slight movement it had in it caused the rear end to steer itself under hard accelerating. It was an interesting run up the strip!
As we only built it for a laugh we sold it on almost straight after it was built, as mentioned was sold to a guy called Ash who spent a hell of alot of money on it to make it road legal but it died in a fire before just as it had been finished
I would do another but front engined instead, already got the ideas in my head on how to do it
i love these sleepers my mate at the garage i go to his friend in another garage has got a horrid dull green oldie, looks box standard but has a honda civic type r under hood, sleeper ultimate only comes out to go to shows at the weekend, the matey built it himself it took some time as he brought a breaker and fitted it in that first, then transferred to another good shell, matey recons its fast, i bet it is too, ive seen the car at garage, id love a go in it
Mark, C1J in a mini is the way forward
We have a long wheelbase Nissan Cabstar at work, I'd love to drop a GTR lump in it
I'd be a terrible millionaire, too much time on my hands to make crazy project cars!
1.5 DCi 100 in a 5?
Just read this about the engine
"Renault has tweaked the 1.5-litre diesel engine to deliver an extra 20bhp, which takes the total to 100bhp at 4,000rpm, while torque output rises to an impressive 200Nm - the same as the Clio 182"
equates to 147 lbs/ft?
FMIC, tweak the fuel pressure, remap?
Uber MPG, torque, lightweight shell
Lad I worked with in Renault had a 80hp clio...... went well..... then he made it look like a 172 with all the gear from a written off one.....
then he had it mapped
FECK it went well!!!!!!!
Mrs Moggy has a 80hp Scenic for the work run...... 70mpg! or 65 if she's late for work! or 55mpg if I drive it
I love it! so much fun! keep thinking about getting a blown one off ebay and just having a 'play'
So the DCi 100 could be half decent, in a lightweight shell
my sister in laws still got her fiat coupe 20v turbo alongside her 370z gt, i really love the fiat 5 cylinder engine altho its a big bugger, combined with the turbo and LSD i think it would go very well in the back of a 5
i used to own a 20v turbo, was in the owners club too. - they all seem to go down the 2.4 stilo bottom end route.
however, i thought the 16v turbo is the same as lancia delta evo engine, hence more tuneable and lighter???
the 'LSD' is some weird 'Viscodrive' lump halfway along the one driveshaft from memory.
Dont know alot about it to be honest Sparkie, but i'd only use the 5 cylinder for the amazing sound
Loved it everytime i drove it and the inside was the nicest interior of any car ive ever been in.
Skill is what's going to stop me from making something awesome. Mainly I have none, but I do have some epic ideas locked away in the old grey matter.
First something not too outrageous but practical:
Mk1 espace powered by b18ft I'm quite seriously looking into this.
I'm converting my '72 vauxhall viva to 3.5 rover v8. Not the most out there thing again but it's period 70s tuning which I like.
I have a 78 Datsun 260z. I also have a 90 r32 GTR. You can see where this is going but I don't have the balls to attempt it
If I won the lottery then my daily would be an early 60s mk2 jag which would look stock outside save for some wider wires and a subtle drop. Interior would also look stock with all electronics hidden in glove box. Power plant would be an rb26dett and 700 horses should make it a fun daily.
Come on those 6 numbers
Ross
renault thinking way out of there boxthe classic.saying that it would be nice to see the engines back in f1................
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ4X4...eature=related
and i remember duncs r5 with the 1.8 turbo 20v engine in it from the cupras or vws mk4 that was quick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNvWtlESSC0 here mate ive seen this video before nice sound
