I saw this last Saturday when i had the 182 worked on, love it shoppers it looks spot on and will go a right treat
Coming together just nice
Be interesting to see how it erforms on the RR
DG
I think anything over 160bhp should be enough to hussle a lot of cars on track, imagine the delivery is going to be very linear which will help us most of that power most of the time and should sound a bit fruity
Ragged to death
When is is due to get on the rollers?
DG
You won't get much of a gain from just fitting carbs, anything over the standard output would be nice.
Remember, the standard clio 16v was quicker point to point than a standard R5gtt, it just didnt feel faster though.....!
Matt I have no idea what they made as standard or in fact how much the R1 carbs would make over oe setup but either way sure it wil go really well and sound great.
Keep up the great work on it Matt, looking really good sir
DG
Sounds like you are interested in buying this thing Duncan?
Just to put things into perspective, my Clio on bike carbs (and a few twiddly bits)
Makes a lot more than it should.....
Just what I need in my life.....................more cars lol. Not finished the ones in the garage
Been chatting to shoppers about the car and should be interesting maybe it will make it to ND
I could always be tempted with some old school motor - Scoff quickly talked me out of mating a 5 to the octavia 4x4 bits I still have spare lol.
Sarah is very keen to have her own track car as she finds the track beast & VX220 tweaked ones a bit much (they scare me lol) and hates the octavia 4x4 estate love bus (not that is it a track car)
DG
Told you Duncain, get your arse back into a 5 & have fun....
Cheap track day cars FTW
I'll try my best for ND.....
Work keeps getting in the way!!
I have a track car already LOL it just needs 2-3 days of work to finish and due to other car projects just dont have time to complete and house move has delayed things further
I cant see the tfsi conversion in the VX220 been completed either for next week as too many jobs to do and still waiting for parts to arrive. Would have been good to give it a shake down but makes more sense to get some mies on it prior to a track day and rr 1st
Matt in the words of the mighty Mart - Chop chop then
DG
Handy for you, I know someone selling a nice blue 6...
Can you guess what it is yet??
Blanks for injector holes, one on the far left will provide vacuum for servo, one on far right will provide map sensor....
map off one port will give funny readings, you'd usually take a feed off each port into a chamber to give smooth readings
Whos doing the lathe work?
Looking good shoppers, will it be ready for Blyton ?
Matt is doing all the work including lathe work!!!
Matt is hoping to get it running for Monday, don't know of we will have time to get it fully set up on rollers intime for nd...but seeing as I ain't going I ain't to bothered.... But DG is looking to borrow it so fingers crossed it will be ready

Well done for doing the work matt, and of course shoppers for keeping the car! Update coming soon for the pearl phase 1 elmof1 thread
Matt was giving the engine a look over, noticed the cambelt was abit slack
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...v/86ff09ab.mp4
So that's getting done aswell
any difference in response to a standard f7p engine?
According to Matt it goes bloody well, when we get it on the rollers I will post up graphs.
New air filters arrived today
Went out in the Red 5 today, with Matt driving it.
Felt very planted, goes very nicely, sounds awesome
Got to get used to getting into a car with a full cage again, but its a fun track car so not to much of an issue.
MOT Tomorrow, Insurance and tax next on the List o fthings to do...
Its Passed with no Advisories
A big thank you to Matt@codered, he has worked wonders on the car, runs alot better, wiring loom is all tidy, suspension and brakes are all sorted... now to use the bloody thing!
Looking good
Spot on Shoppers
Fancy booking a trackday at Brands?
Great stuff shopper
DG
Croft trackday up here next month, if you fancy it?
Deal! Plus need to do brands one last time before it gets changed...
BTW. Mike, who Mot'd the car today is a privateer in the Air Asia Clio Cup series at the moment, he asked if he could have a go....
He came back with a grin on his face and remarked its a 'disgustingly good fun car'. I think thats good...
Love the look of this car, bet those carbs bark like fook.
So when can I buy it
