I think most will know my views, but when does the number or D/v's or blow off become detrimentle to optimum working?
it must be like piles cream, just because you apply more to said application does not mean you get better results...

are we talking 5s here or proper mans motors
There was a test in redline a while back testing a dv, re-circ dv and no dv on the same car 1 lap of the same track. No dv 1st, re-circ 2nd, dv last
I wonder what psi the average fart leaves your bum hole, if a dump valve up your bum bum would make a tiiiiishhhhh as you pass wind... (no i wont try) any theorys?
That'll be a dumper truck then
,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Av got tretis so dont need a dump valve. every time i change gear
Serious the way some people drive with them fitted, It seem's they drive there car as if it suffers badley, the closer to people they more they suffer car making more noise
Post up the results from the dump valve-fart test guys. This'll be an interesting one.
Think of the money you could make with bespoke bum valves!! I'd buy two.
sorry to be all james may and sensible here but... i dont get it, are dv's good for your car or not? im a novice at all this and from what ive been told theyre worth having.. am i wrong? do all you run a dv?
Yo Jamie - This has been widely discussed over the years, and this will probably answer your questions based on me being shot down in flames, so here goes.
Many people fit dump valves for 2 main reasons.
(Clarkson style) Some believe that the dump valve will enable your turbo to spool up quicker and aid to quicker track times, Some people believe that a dump valve sounds cool and will make ladies wet once relieving pressure at 6000 rpm. All I know,,,, is that is guff.
Sorry back on point.
The reason I have fitted the DV is to prolong turbo life, as far as I am aware the reason for fitting dump valves to cars in the main is for this very reason (talking about factory fitted DV's here). The claims to improve this and make that better are largely unfounded and although there may be some truth to claims made they are generally unnoticeable in the real world. The only reason I would not fit one is because I love the sound of chatter without one. Almost everything on my car is there because I believe it is necessary, not because it's cool.
My WRX had one as standard.
My Cooper 's' has one as standard
My R11 GtTL don't even need one
Bring on the torrent .................................................. ....................
No torrent mate, what you say is basicly correct lol they are fitted to newer cars as standard for a reason... but never fitted to a 5 gt turbo or 11 leave as is and hear the surge baby woooo
PS hope you had your curry james!
d'v's are like condoms you can fit one but things can still go wrong..
cheers boyo's.. much appreciated. still not sure wheter to run one though.
