Hi there. I have just started to notice fuel dripping from the thin black pipe that points towards the floor that sits just behind the front bumper. Not continuous, but enough to leave a small puddle when you park up after a short burst. I have never seen this happen in the 12 years I've had my GTT.
Any ideas on what may be the problem?

2nd stage enrichment gasket is leaking.
Nothing a 32dis overhaul kit can't sort, and worth doing if one of the several gaskets within the carb has already failed.

no it will not .
just take the carb apart carfully on a big table laying all the parts out in order
get a can or two of carb clean spray and clean clean clean every thing as you rebuild it
taking pickys of as you take it apart might also help. make notes of wich way round the springs fit
inother words dont just rip it apart

I have ordered the kit for the club shop yesterday. As for servicing the carb....... well, that's another story.....
Hello, my service kit has arrived. I have a few questions:-
1. What is the brass coloured screw type thing that is enclosed in its own plastic container?
2. Not being that confident of taking out the carb and doing the job myself (I know, I know, owned a GTT for nearly 12 years and am pretty duff at simple mechanics!!) how long would it take for an independent garage to do the job for me and how much is a decent quote without getting ripped off?
3. Assuming they do a good job, as no jets are being replaced, I take it that the previous set up on the rolling road will be maintained (I sure hope so because the car runs sweet apart from the fuel leak through the waste pipe that runs from the carb.)
As always, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. I should really update my location!! I am actually working in Germany at the moment but hope to return to Bristol next year. Therefore I will have to take my pride and joy to a German Garage.

have a read of this.....Its not a difficult job as long as you take your time
You wont alter the carb spec just by overhauling it, you will however have to reset the idle rpm and mixture. TBH if your not confident of doing it yourself you could just replace the 2nd stage, gasket in question that is leaking, very easy to do !
i wouldent pay someone else to do it, you`l only get ripped off IMO

mmm, decisions, decisions. Is it easy to change the 2nd stage gasket whilst the carb is still in the car?

Today was the day I said let's just do it. I managed to get the carb out and could only replace half of the gaskets as the screws was just moulded on with years worth of heat and gunge. I could not even replace the biggesat gasket as it would not come apart and I did not was to force it and break it.
I did notice a tiny tiny hole in the black gasket that has the pipe coming out of it that was leaking in the first place. I could not change the orange gaskets either because the screws were locked in.
I put the carb back together and put the carb back in the car. I could not get those metal clips that go onto the black pipes to grip together properly so just used just cable ties as a precaution. I take it there is a special tool to do the clips?
Gave her a good old spin and hey presto no leak. Looks like I've sorted it.
What a way to spend a birthday evening. The blast was good as the roads were completely empty as Germany are playing at the moment in the world cup.
