Hi Guys.. Finally taken a night off to start my thread and search for coilovers!
To cut my life story short, iv been involved in motorsport since I was born (now 19) So building and preparing cars is my hobby! Im also a driver coach for a kart team! Iv owned and messed about with 2 kitcars over the last few years and just fancied a change! Roll on Renault 5!
So.. Id just sold my quantum kitcar

And money burning a hole in my pocket spotted a 5 turbo for £800! After a quick test drive I knew I wanted it! It didnt look too bad condition wise, needed new sills and the engine sounded sweet and boosted well!
I spent that weekend looking on images and ebay and looking all over the house for spare change to help fund it!
Im also involved with the north easts modified car culture, so I heard about an upcoming show.. Modified nationals! Me being me decided that the renault would be a good car to try and build to show standard and to try get a magazine feature! 3 weeks later and 3 weeks to the show this i what i have!
Enough of the waffle ill let the pictures say the rest! (sills are both off now and I have new recplacement ones)

- Flocked door cards, center console, plastic pillar & rear quarter trims
- Carbon wrapped grey section of the dash & glovebox lid (leaving the black section leather look)
- Snap of Momo steering wheel
- red carpet cleaned
- original seats cleaned

Ohh all the holes have been welded now except new sills put on all inside has been re- seam sealed and its getting a full respray inside and out in White!

Thanks! Its mad but im hoping it'll all tie together! Yes it is my grans colours! (she doesnt know about it yet!) Ill keep it posted and my deadline to have it finished is the 1'st june!

Sure will be! Im wanting something a bit different thatll shout out!
Yeah I have, its the first time iv done them and theyve turned out pretty much perfect!.. Couldnt have chosen a harder material.. getting all the lines to be perfectly straigt was a right nightmare! But i think itll be worth the hassle! Might not be to everybody's taste.. but hey- ho!

Been a while i know.. But lots of progress has been made!!

So.. I had a vey rusty, glittery 5!..

Its now been painted inside and iv been told its getting sprayed outside on monday! WOOOP! But here's the pics!











































So.. i was getting somewhere! (Not in time for my show deadline..)
But! My friend asked me to finish off his 08 plate fiesta zetec s.. which meant smoothing bump strips, fitting coilovers, cambering the rear wheels and a full respray...!
3 DAYS BEFORE THE SHOW!! We worked flat out and even slept in the garage on thursday night.. becuase it was 3 in the morning by the time it was painted! We were due to set off in convoy at 12 in the afternnon on friday so up at 7 once the paint was dry(ish) enough to work around!! Mad!
(Also he gave me any option of wheel colour.. turned out to be a right fanny magnet!!) So heres pics of that!

So that was modified nationals.. also met some fellow guys with renault 5's.. good to see them there!!

Well! She's home! And looking very fresh! Just the standard rebuild procedure.. so ill let the pics do the talking! Also lowered my rear torsion bar by 4" with adjustable gaz dampers! Happy! Front coilies go on tonight! Torsion bar came out pretty easy with a little heat & a hand from my dad!

Oooh and iv got my starmags painted!
Ordered new washer jets & some green GT turbo stickers for the side!























































And that brings me to tonights work..! Fitting font coilies and getting busy with waxoyl and black smoothrite!
Getting there!! Cant wait to get my Starmags on!

What a horrible night to work on my car...! Wish it was still in a garage!
Got the old struts off and replaced them with adjustable Gaz's! Found one of the rotating plates on the top had pushed itself through so had to get the welder out!.. Another job for my dad
The non stop rain & kneeling in puddles wasnt pleasant.. but my cars on its backside now so it's been worth it!!!

Red carpet has been wet-vac'd aswell as the seats so hopefully get them in after work tomorrow.. racking up the overtime for extra moneys!

I like the work you have done, car looks very tidy but not sure about the tartan though...

What colour of purple is on the fiesta's wheels? They look good too.
