Fly wheel for EFI - C1J

Just been measuring up and found 1 or 2 differences, they are very close, but I would need a spare engine and clutch etc to be sure, but it looks like it will go on a c1j with minimal fuss. This is a 200mm wheel off a Scenic. Here's what I know so far........

    1. The centre bores are both the same size.

    2. The overall thickness is the same.

    3. The clutch cover plates are the same size and orientation.

    4. The timing mark is in the same location.

    5. The starter ring gear is the same.

    What is different???

    1. The crank end bolt pattern is ever so slightly different.

    2. The width of the clutch spring recess is also smaller. The C1J has a 125mm wide recess and the Scenic one has 112mm wide recess but both of the same depth.

And that's all I know atm. I will try to find a spare clutch plate and cover as soon as I can.

    Hi Andy

    Good digging

The bolt pattern - one bolt hole is offset slightly on the C1J, so does the scenic one maybe not have the offset, or maybe its offset the other way ?

That got me thinking - I assumed that the holes would all be evenly spaced, so when comparing 1 against the other I had the back faces of each touching. As it happens, if you turn them around they all line up.

Which only leaves the clutch recess I need to get me a clutch plate from somewhere. I'll ask around the local massive.

Nice one TNT Markey. I'll pop down next week if I can. BTW, the TNT stands for you blow stuff up a lot.

Yes it's in the same place. But I don't know what sensor you would use. I. Would like to think you could use the standard 5 pick up.

That's great news, once the clutch is checked we need to try the 215mm next..... I wonder how different that 1.6 crank is to the c1j

Doesn't the 200mm Volvo 440/80 flywheel not fit, pretty sure it works with Efi as well ?
Although I expect the scenic one would be more readily available if it will fit..
