few more piccys of bits ive so far made this week
these are the stainless steel rose jointed tie rods to support the exhaust manifold, the bracket bolts to the back of the block,.
heres a few of the new fuel line set up complete with inline filter
stainless bracket and clip to hold oil filter
heat shield to protect drive shaft rubber boot from exhaust manifold runners, dont want them getting hot a splitting sending grease all over the runners = instant fire
air filter bracket for holding the neck in position on the roll cage leg.
modified heat sheild to bolt on behind the flange plate of the exhaust manifold.
pick up moulds for wide arch kit this friday, will start making a new wider set of rear and front arches sometime next year, and develop a new front bumper and rear bumper
also ordered a wider set of rear tyres 245/40/15's and a set of new inner rim sections for the split rims, will be 10" wide. running 2 1/2 degrees camber on the back more updates next week
FFS Andy - Reading this is like listening to BBC radio 1.
Looks great, you keep dangling the carrot with shiney new this and mahoosive that, please get it on the road soon and let's see what this 'blue coffin of death' can do.
Looking awesome as usual.
BTW, when your all finished nancing around, there's a couple of spritely C1Js wanting to meet you on the twisties
Such a wicked project this
When it's finished mechanically, I'd remove the rear spoiler, replace the wing mirrors with OE, paint the car a glossy black (including the bonnet), and the wheels silver.
Making it something like a next generation of this:
Sounds great Andy with going wider on the arches, can I ask where your getting the moulds from?
Good going mate! Keep em coming
pick them up tonight from a bloke in gt yarmouth, along with some grill and bumper moulds of various styles
the idea being to produce the arches from the plug, build out/re shape the profile, and use these as a new plug, will be looking into doors bonnets /boots and grills also in the next year or so
I like that approach mate, I think the idea I'm gonna go with is to flare the original arch on the car with fabrication work. I've seen it done before on a Citroen ax, that's runnings cossie 2wd running gear.
Personally I'm not gonna do it, a good friend of mine is a fabricator, my welding looks like random bird droppings
great Car , you ( or better your car ) have now a Fan in Germany
Wow I need this in my life
Oohhh super production very nice
Take a look at this one:
http://www.motorsportmarkt.de/bilder...ull-specs.html
loving the uber cool white finish ,screams prototype
funny enough i picked up a set of moulds for that rear spoiler also this weekend just gone got any more piccys
No mate, this is for sale so this are the only pics. Spec is in the advertisement.
pretty much, looking to add another 30mm over hang on the front arches, and re profile the rear wing and get it looking fatter,as it taperers in quite a bit,and also add another 50mm each side got a standard front and rear bumper styles to fit also, as i hate the skeete bumpers should look fairly close to the production racer
quick update , been busy this weekend making the most of the good weather, managed to get the manifold, turbo, all the bost hoses etc back on the car, ordered the exhaust wrap and tial spring, just got to get another exhaust mount fitted and wrap it ,fit the wastegate and take out the resistor in the second bank of injectors, give it an oil and filter change and fill up the fluids, then she will be ready to run
will get some piccys up tomorrow
Any more pics buddy?
That exhaust support bracket looked like you were making your own wishbones. If your after so much extra track width maybe that would be an option endles caster camber and track width adjustment.
ive got approx 70mm of adjustment on the rear rose jointed wishbone/tie rod set up already, which is more than enough
i like to over engineer things, i have this habbit of breaking things(and changing things at the drop of a hat) think i caught it of jp
will be rose jointing the front end late next year also
engine up and running again, sounds like a v8!!! the cam is a little lumpy
the engine lost its low drone burble, and now gives out a crisper, but somewhat deepish raspy soundand the turbo seems responsive, 0.2 bar @3800rpm static idle, but to early to really tell, should be good though
gearbox and gears all seem to work, but the clutch is a bit hard!!!!!!well thats an understatement its ****ing hard!!!, and is very much on or off within 15mm of pedal travel!!!!!its going to take some getting use too,i dont think i will be doing much town driving in it
Nice one Andy - thought you'd died.
Let me know when you are up at Walkers, I've got a few days left in the bag.
Good to hear mate! Make a video of it idling please, really curious how it sounds
latest piccys of the engine bay completed
the exhaust wrap and exhaust system thats been wraped
now the new gearbox and clutch is in, i had to mod the clutch stop as the biting point had move quite a bit from the jc5 gearbox set up
Looking good fella
What's left to get it on the road?
You working on it tomorrow night?
damn, i'm in love!
rollerbearing for the win
also modded the exhaust bracket,so it does'nt flex anymore
anyway, engine almost complete apart from swapping the in/out pipe on the wastegate, which i managed to forget to doafter plumbing it in the wrong way
just waiting for the new air temp/egt gauge to arrive (hopefully in a week or so )and the knocktec to fit as well
i'm getting more and more excited to visitting the Frenchies because this lovely motor is there too!
great inspiration for my 5
here is a few more piccys
this is the support brackets for the exhaust manifold
turbo heat shield in place
new improved exhaust hanger bracket/and high temp rubber mount in red
Amazeing work mate looks really good
the knock tec device
maybe a waste of time but worth ago
Wow! Amazing quality of work, simply stunning
was going to lag the runners on the exhaust manifold also, but really concerned about long term reliability
Fantastic progression mate
