Put 3 different idle valves on and they all do nuffink Wired in or not ,though the one on now at least keeps it at about 1200 which is OK .
Your car is certainly strange... What fuel pressure are you running?, and what regulator?

Have you actually checked you're actually getting 12v at the valve? Also, have you deffo deffo deffo checked your using the right wires for the outputs. Also, if you are, tried using different outputs instead of 1 and 2..

Std Reg and I've got 2.85 bar at idle ......

Just checked again again .....12.88 v on one side ,2.45v on the other as it's idling right now .................. weird just now ....Starting with power wires unplugged it revved right up to 3000 and stayed there .....I still have the throttle plate open a bit so I'm thinking the valve was fully open at that point .

Not wierd, dizzyless phase 3 pixie magic...

They're steppers on the phase 3 arent they?

No biggie, I replaced the one (had been converted to run a ohase 2 lump) on my 21 for one off a clio... they're pretty common.

Ah i didnt mean are the wires correct in the sheet, I mean have *you* actually put the correct wire to the ISCV, or checked there isnt a break in connection somewhere.

Even if you have sticking valves, playing around with the numbers in WARI should still do something to it while you sit there, if its rev max, or stall. But your still getting nothing, am I right?

Yep, checked continuity and the plug is the std plug .If I play with it in Wari it does alter but never runs correctly so I don't know .Dave M has some really odd figures that seem to sort it on his setup .......................End of the day ,if it starts and will idle at decent revs I'm happy .I haven't gone through all this grief to get it to idle sweetly

The shakedown for Mallory continues .The crank sensor is getting tooooo hot I think .It's only about an inch away from the exhaust and after some spirited driving it starts to miss very badly .I have wrapped the exhaust locally and also the sensor itself .Might have to fab up a heat shield as well I think .

Turns out the sensor was too close @ 0.5mm I moved it away a good 2 mil and it doesn't drop out .But it's worse on a hot start .Somewhere in between will be good .
I think it moves and clips the wheel when close and hot .

It doesn't seem to like being close at all About 2 mm away seems best ,although it will still struggle to start when very hot .
Got to sort a few oil leaks from the timing cover as well as it's getting covered in oil .......

Is that definately sensor related or something to do with temperature related cranking fuel enrichment in your map?

Yeh it may be cranking fuel ,dunno .I'm gonna get Mr Scoff to fine tune it once the bigger injectors etc are done .It is running the same all the time now ,starts on second turn from stone cold ,doesn't miss .Only had a slight issue at Mallory with it missing coming out of the hairpin with about 5 gals ,put some more fuel in and it went away .

All done I will need to fit an air temp gauge so I can compare this to the std .
Would a food temp probe type unit be good enough ?? I can't get the Std Renault unit on the throttle body to read correctly in Adaptronic for some reason .It worked before but seems to have gone wrong .Saying 80c + from stone cold ..

    Re: Old Smokey

Had another test day at Bruntingthorpe yesterday .
Big thanks to Scoff for finally getting the Adaptronic sorted

The 2nd test days figures were taken with the car as it is now but running on the std renix with big turbo @ a bars boost ......

There's a lot more to come I feel as I'm only running 12 psi on a std turbo with 214 cc injectors .Next stage is 300bhp capable turbio and 330 cc.
Figures coming out now are very good .These are of course subjective but all the figures were taken on the same equipment at the same venue over three events .
So a level playing field for once .
I've yet to see the official results but old JIL is avin-em-all 1b1
Only thing close to her is a 50 grand supercar with 350 bhp

    Yesterday's results JIL

I haven't confirmed this with the manufacturers but the figures for the unmodified cars would seem to suggest a correction factor of approx 6% to 7% for the power figures due to the wet surface.

For example that would put the 400GT output closer to 390 bhp

I'm really pleased .After the last year it's good to actually get out there and use the car .
It even sat in M1 traffic jam for an hour on the way home with just one little burp

I'm sending the big turbo to Adam to repair then I'll be up for you to sort the fine tuning on the bigger set-up .

I also spoke to the guy with the 610 conversion , he's now up for having another go at sorting his I think .You may get a mail ..........

as ever, no problem, just shout when you need some more mapping done.

looking at those trap speeds you've done well in comparison to the rest, quickest renault by far, besides the yellow spider, assiming thats a renault spider. forget 0-60's, 1/4miles, they're all grip and driver related, the real tell-all is the trap speed.

how heavy is your car with you sat in it ? I could estimate rwhp from that and your 1/4m trap.
