Oulton Park trackday, Tuesday 18th November

On the back of a successful Mallory Park ND, here's a bloody good value trackday to squeeze in before the year is out...

Oulton Park trackday, run by the guys at Trackaction-Online ( http://www.trackaction-online.co.uk ), on Tuesday 18th November. Normal list price for the day is £150, but they've kindly offered us a club rate price of £120.

For that price, that's use of the full circuit, open pitlane (and hence no 20 minute sessions ), and free instruction/tuition.

I don't think, as a club, we've been to Oulton before, so here's a perfect opportunity to tick that off the list of UK tracks to drive on.

First post!

Hi Fellas

Just a quick hello and intro! I'm one of the Trackaction guys running the day at Oulton Park. We are a trackday enthusiasts forum that this year has started to run some of our own events. In March we started off with a trackday at Cadwell Park..... Paul B making an appearance




And then, as Steer From The Rear noted, we ran a couple of drift days over the summer on the tarmac rally stages at Oulton......



Our Oulton trackday should be a great day out, we are limiting numbers to minimise queueing and maximise tracktime and for those who haven't been there it's fair to say that Oulton is one of the best circuits in the country and pretty easy to get to just off the M6 .

Anyhow, please post up your names if you'd like to come along or any questions that you have and hopefully we'll get a good showing of RTs at the event

Hhm.. Sounds good. Not too far from me either. Silly question time - Being an 'open pit lane' for the day, does that basically mean we can go on and off track as we please, all day?

Yep, that's exactly what it means. Oulton set a limit on how many cars are allowed on track at any one time and we try to book the right number of cars in to the day to ensure that there is little or no queueing. Usually the only time you might have to wait is straight after lunch if everyone is raring to go or straight after a red lag , even then it's usually only a few minutes .

On a good open pit day I've done up to 150 miles on the track so you won't be disappointed .

Yep, cleared the day off with the gaffer today, so I'm up for it, and suspension issues aside, I'll be there in the Jap taxi.

Forgot to ask what sort of instruction comes free on the day, ie how long, whos car and by who! I deffinitly need the lessons!!!

Instructors will be ARDS licenced Oulton regulars, I work there myself so I'll make sure they are up to scratch!

Typically we run 20 minute instruction sessions where the instructor goes out with you in your car and tells you the best ways to drive it and how to handle some of the trickier corners. Well worth having if you are new to trackdays or haven't been to Oulton before.
