What the hell, i am gonna go for it, where's the best place for steel rods, the only ones i can track down are PEC at 475?

I got mine for Jacquemin tuning, but they were a lot more than that, but less than fardon wanted for a custom set
prima racing offer afew sets might b worth a look!
I got mines from here http://www.pauter.com/billet_rods.htm

i have cunningham rod's but they are not cheap

A lot of the big power zetec and y.b people use arrow, dont know if they do anything for the humble c1j, might be worth a look.
I take it steel rods are a requirement for big power engines? if so what kind of power level would we be talking?
Blimey you can squeeze that out of a c1j lump, nice
lol oh so they are a pretty pointless purchase then? just for bragging rights or piece of mind?
No just for people that spend a shed load of time, blood, tears, sweat & money getting thier 5's to hit low 11 sec quarters
Lots of tuning & a bit of NOS.... not for the novice tuner
i got mine from wossner they were a freebe in the end after i argued that they had there measurments wrong they were around the 700 quid mark
I don't know that for certain, you'll have to check with Andy. As I said though, I wasn't trying to offend with what I said.
The thing is, despite what the tuners tell you, there are very, very few 5's out there with over a genuine 300bhp. Stuart Clark has spent a lot of time (read years), money, trial and error, and it's cost him blood, sweat and tears, to get to where he's got with his engine/car. He's at a level that very few will ever get to!
Well I'll add my two pence worth. I run Wossner rods and pistons. Seem ok, well not had any issues yet! I'll report back when I up the gas. But then I never had any issue's with standard one's either, although never used the gas on them.
O and some machining work is required to fit the wossner rods.
not anymore they have changed it since there last catalogue they had the bearing sizes wrong so they were a to tight and locked the crank so i got the literature from 3 other websites and various bearing suppliers they sent me the deatils i forwarded them to wossner who send me new rods and said i could keep the old which i had machined and sold on.
Blah.... Cheap Chinese parts FTW.......
i got a deal with woosner £650 for steel rods and forged pistons the rods were £150 but only if you purchase them with the pistons
Has anyone actually exploited the limits of the o.e rods yet?
They're pretty bulletproof as is in fairness.
as previously said I run them and they haven't given me no trouble, yet lol.
Do you know why you bent your rods?
