is there an onsite petrol pump at mallory or if not will you be able to leave to refuel then rerturn no problem?
Its about 5 mile to the BP and about 7 to the shell from Mallory- never been to a track I could not leave to get fuel.
Not sure if they have fuel on site but expect to pay £1.30ltr if it is.
So wish I could better 10mpg on track get about 80odd miles to a tank and then on reserves LOL (for another £45 fill up )
I'm gonna run mine on track with about 1/4 tank, surprising how much difference the ride height is with a full tank and say 1/4. I have a 20L jerry can to hand
a tank in mine lasts about an hour 15 on track. i expect to be in and out quite a bit lol
I'll be taking it nice and steady
Nice & steady same as Adey then, and Paul B lol - might even take it easy myself - NOT
if in doubt flat it out
you gaylords, if our cars make it there , look out for Mr. M and the one they call jesus for theyll be out there with you.....
For sure
you like it mr.m , when the 5`s are happy im happy......, yeah for sure , maybe even by friday, ill try me best, i knida like it too................PCT.....boyyyyyeeeee
I will be taking 2 x 20 litre tanks if anybody runs out let me know... u can borrow a can and refill at your expense.
Cant say fairer than that :-)
Guys, if i arrive at 10pm Friday, can I still get in to setup camp?
shouldnt be a problem.......
apart from being dark AND a few may be merry so will gladly watch a laugh loudly if you struggle with the tent,,,
hahahahaha
Is Saturday the main Day?? Will everyone still be there on the sunday?
I only plan on going on the sunday because of my littluns. Do kids get in free?
Saturday is our National Day...
On sunday its a normal car race meeting...as we are camping over we already have tickets for this event...if you come on sunday I think its £15 entry fee but kids under 14 free I think
OK.....
as far as spectating at Mallory goes its pretty good....
the pits will be open , over the bridge on the main straight and you can wander about...caution...cars will be moving in this area if you have children with you.....
from inside the pit area you can see the back straight, and upto the hairpin...
best spectator spot by far and best for pics, the hairpin....you can sit on the grass bank either side of the track, good for braking incidents, LOL, late turn ins and general tyre squealing antics...being very close to the track is what makes it so good...
fastest point on the circuit, back straight area, you can drive around to the rear and park on the grass banking....if theres going to be a big slide and general pants browning moment it will be here, as they exit the 100mph turn and accelerate down the back straight .....
DRIVERS.......
the back straight is very deceptive as far as speed goes....most cars will enter this at 70+......theres quite a nice right at the end of the straight so build up your confidence into this corner....
after the hairpin its a downhill left called devils elbow.....again , build up your speed into this slowly, it drifts you out onto the main straight to the right of the track....hit the rumble strip or worse and your looking at 1 of 2 barriers...literally..
the hairpin...great fun and is banked and lulls you in deeper every time....
if it goes wrong coming out the hairpin "hit the brakes"......if you hit the inside wall, its 3 feet of concrete and it ain't gonna move....LOL....
anyone with rear drive cars...caution as the outside of the hairpin is a very RAISED rumble strip....hit this sideways with your foot still hard on the gas...at best, shake your fillings out, at worst, rip out your suspension
BLOODY GOOD FUN THOUGH

Cheers Paul
Think i'll join the beginners lap ... if there is one. Always nice to get a good 'feel'.
Well its 5:30am, i am to excited about ND to sleep, cant work on my car so.... just sorting out new songs for my Ipod.
been up since since 3.45 lol, just loading up to the iphone so ive got some tunage too. sorta looking forward to it now, hopfully the exhaust will be sorted in a few hours so i can go get the last bits i need, yay
the HIGHER the ron figure the less chance of pre detonation "pinking"...
we all know this kills a 5 engine so higher ron can be a good thing if your set up to run higher BHP
Midst packing the car, sorting postcodes for the TomTom, AND... waiting for the phonecall to say my new wheels are in
Make sure the mobile is all charged too
off to check my levels in a mo....then pack the car and get fuel...
then, i gotta wait for my little girl to finish school so I might go fishing for a couple of hours....LOL
I'm off to fill up in a bit ......Think I'll just put some 97 in as it's half full with that anyways .Gonna fill a jerry can as well as the fuel gauge has been saying 6.3 for about a week now .
Looking forward to it boyeeeeees
The right turn just before the pit entry, I bricked it but managed to reverse off the track quick enough, The guy with the flag was usless didn't do a thing . All good though no harm done and lost my track virginity, think I'm a track addict now. Shame the 5 started to play up later on in the day, we met a couple of times as well, yours looked good round the track, great fun . Whens the next one ??
I went across the grass there...I turned in.....nowt happened so straightened up and booted it...LOL....
you soon get addicted and what better way to keep your pelvic floor muscle in good shape....
there are always trackdays around the UK, more than you can imagine....so...if you ever want to go on one book throgh a club like trackaction-online.co.uk for discount..
they have a free gallery too for your vids..
