    Camshaft timing

Sorry if people have gone over this before but as much as I research this certain area of engine tuning I still feel as if im in the dark, its so complex or maybe im just a dumbass. I want to learn more about this because I know you can make such a diffrence to the way the engine makes its power. Is it all trial and error? N.a cam timing compared to forced induction cam timing seems so simple.

N/A timing simple compared to blown!!! Couldn't disagree much more! I'm afraid that unless you've done a lot of engines to the same spec then timing is pretty much trial and error. Start out from somewhere around straight up to 3-4'advance and then swing it about from there. Then change something on your setup and have to do it all again!

Unless you're really pushing the boundaries, anywhere in the range suggested will get you there.
