turbo my e30 325 or get an e36 M3?
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
Ive got a 4 door 1989 325i se, and a big pile of bits to turbo it, egay turbo kit, megasquirt ecu, loads of pipework and silicone hoses, uprated headbolts ect, but a friend of mine asked why i just dont get an M3 instead.
I wanted to use it for track days, and have been on about having a turbo car that didnt start off as turbo for years, and have already given up on a turbo citroen ax project few years back.
I dont like the look of the e36 but they have all the bits done to them already, and the engine will take some abuse unlike a turbo'd engine that was designed to be turbo'd.
what to do?

Go with the sensible option, and another point your E30 is 4 door...

E36 M3 for me!
Build to do track work all day every day & you're not trying to re-invent the wheel by turboing a 325i?!

I can use some of the bits ive bought on the r5 gt turbo, guess i'm selling the e30, yes i know its a moredoor haha!
I hate the fact i'm going to lose out selling brand new bits at cut down prices tho.
oh well such is life.
So how much do you think a good m3 is going to set me back? bodywork not an issue as going to be a trackcar, not sure what model I'm after yet tho, the evo's are more prone to go wrong arent they? The vanos is more complex isnt it?

I'd turbo your current car.
