What tools do you keep in your car?

Looking to get a small/compact tool kit for the 5, as im guessing it may come in useful.
What basics will be required?

1) Socket set

I just bought a 39 piece socket set from Wilko's for £7.99. It's pretty good, and I'm gonna keep that in my car. I think some people would say cable ties as well, in case you break down and you need to bodge it to get home.

4. Jump leads
5. cigarrette plug in air compressor for tyres
6. Tow rope
7. Cabelties
8. Electrical Tape

All in my mk1 clio ...dont carry that much in my sisters car(mk2 clio) apart from a spare set of coils and the relevant tools to sort them

All the tools you need to strip a gtt to the chassis and build it up again -

10/11mm spanner/socket
12/13mm spanner/socket
18mm spanner/socket
17/19mm spanner/socket
10mm allen socket
6mm and 8mm allen key (cos ive changed some of the hexheads for capheads)
1/2" drive ratchet with a knuckle joint(UJ) and a 75mm and 125mm extension.
small adjustable (or a 6mm spanner for the tappets)
feeler gauges
long nose pliers
small and medium flat screwdriver
torx screwdriver (cant remember the size, T4 i think)
posidrive screwdriver
stanley knife
pry bar (optional)
0-150Nm torque wrench
a good torch


i also keep a few different lengths and diameters of hoses, a length of 2.5mm wire, connector block, insulating tape, cable ties, fuses, bottle of water and a small can of wd40 in the car. oh and a fire extinguisher.
I cant see the point of dragging a full socket set around when you only ever use 4 of them, its just extra weight.

I always use a little ratchet spanner for all jubilee clips and make sure i dont over tighten them and ive never had one come off always carry my spanner and my big halfords ratchet. with the 19mm for when i for get to tighten then nuts

i keep a flat blade screwdriver and my AA card in mine... lol

used to keep a boot full of bits, and it always used to break. took all the tools out and it behaves

Three spanners ,a torch ,fuses ,bulbs and a multimeter normal driving ...2 full toolboxes ,jumper pack ,leads hoses ....prayer mat ............. whenever I've paid a wedge out to get somewhere to rag the car

AA card-Had 2callouts already since september when i got the car.Fuses under the steering wheel cap incase only one sides lights work again.Think il start carrying more.Maybe in that little compartnet opposite the battery Cable ties are usefull.Needed one the other day when i was in a knock to tie my bumper up

id say imo a small tool box full of tools and also a torch i got a wind up one for christmas which needs no batterys its very handy .also a SPARE drive belt AND cluch cable.gets you out of alot of mess................one time i was in kiddy about 25-30 miles from home and cluch cable snaped it was only due to the high revs and cranking it into gear that got me home at one point i nearley had to stop not good!lucky i was on country roads then managed to get onto the motrway it was my only choice.......did not help as i was on my own, running out of petrol,and the 5th gear retaining nut came lose so i only had 4 gears f***ing great
