looks interesting.
Give me a shout if you have any questions on the Alpine swap, there are a few detail things that you may not know about.
Make sure you get the right cam, if you're using a GTT block you need to use a cam with different sized bearings to the Alpine ones. You don't want the Alpine water pump drive on the cam, and you also want to use a single row chain with the variable pulley - so make sure Cat cut it for the right pulley.
I ran that engine with a GT2860r, I'd go for a mild cam as the Catcams have a lot of overlap, the turbo is quite small, but you'll make plenty of power with it. My cam was a bit like the 5500122.
Also note that Alpine cam followers are not the same as GTT ones.
Just spotted the only for drag comment, I think you might want to be looking at a bigger turbo, something T3 based, and twin scroll.
like the turbo2 style one (no water pump piece), but with all the journal bearings the same size (gt turbo style)
just to throw another spanner in the works... With that turbo I'd get Piper to cut a 285 onto an Alpine cam, modify it to fit, then run a CR of somewhere between 8.5 and 9:1

You read my minds!! the compression ratio will be between thet!!
the water pump will be an elec. one 80 l/min (i olredy acquire)
The springs and retainers are in titanium, the valves are made from mimonic
the throtle body are 4 of 38mm (38mm for each cilinder)
the injectors will be 550ccm (high ohms)
am only not sure for the ECU ?
am very interested in OMEX 600, but ofcourse if you can gave me sam advice for it
for enother one for exem. better
looks a good spec, although for drag racing a single throttle is easier, and will probably make more power. There isn't much space for individual throttle bodies. I use a Sierra Cosworth throttle body with a Graham Goode antilag valve.
Being left hand drive you should have space behind the engine under the exhaust manifold to fit an alternator. It's not an easy engine to fit into a GTT as there isn't much space.
Which engine block will you use, GTT or Alpine?
My advice for an ECU is find the guy you want to map the engine and use whatever he suggests.

one more you are right the alternator is under the exhaust, the block will be from alpine, for the ECU you probably heard some good things (for omex) and some bead
i would like to know it!! for mapping its not a problem
I think Ashy uses Omex, he's probably the guy to ask.
I've just been looking at your pictures. What's the differential, is it a works one? The liners look interesting too, do you think the ribs help? What about the wills rings (I assume that's what they are)?
I think you should save yourself some money on the cam and get Piper to regrind your old one, 285@112deg should work.
Guys love this thread. Wish I was able to take part in a meaningful way. In fact understanding 100% would be an improvement for me.

the diff. is from Bacci & Romano
the liners are made to look like the character "L"its "magnificently"
Am sorry but can you tell me what is "wills sing" if you think abaut the piston you will notice thet they are not standard made !! they have a small diference!!
these:

although when I look close they don't look like Wills Rings
http://www.tss.trelleborg.com/com/ww...s_rings_gb.pdf
That's a new diff to me, do you have any technical details on it?
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
No they are not wills rings; they are aluminium rings!! and they sit on the top of liners (in the slot)
This is their site:

this picture looks familiar, is it a VW inner cv ?
https://www.rtoc.org/boards/album.php...pictureid=4433
I just made a pair of those myself
Nice thread by the way
ooh, they do some interesting stuff
http://www.bacciromano.com/index.php...&cat2=51&mar=8
I think that's the same stuff that we can get from Avanti in the UK.
I see, are they 100mm dia ? they look very much like VW, identical perhaps.
those flanges and inners will be VW I'm sure, not likely they've manufactured they're own.
Not the same as the modified shaft above then ? that avanti picture was too small, I was assuming they would be the same. assumption is a pig
they look too shiney for me
I just used 12.9 Unbrako cap screws, I think 130mm.
What have you done to drain the oil from the back of the cylinder head back to the sump?
New poster! (less than 10 posts)
for draining the oil from the beck of the head (am sorry if i didnt undersstood well)
you are asking me for the valves how did i lock them?(i know my english is bed)
i didnt reach this level of problem!! the engine is out and am geting the needed parts for rebiltit !! i suppose that you figure it out how to resolve this problem!!!
can you help me explaining me how?
Not my engine, this is Sven's at Renaultpower
you can see the two oil drains he's added from the back of the head down to the sump. Sven used a Turbo 2 head, so his water pump is on the other end of his engine.
On my engine I use a single drain from the end of the head back down to the sump.
there are some pics of my engine here: http://www.renaultpower.com/?rS=gallery&cid=56 but they were before I fitted my drain.
i found this site
http://www.adaptronic.co.uk/
this ECU E420C seems very good What price coud i get it?
Blimey, if you hadn't have said otherwise, I'd have thought that was you in that pic' Andy!
Not as good as looking as Mr Cookes lump...erm......
the injector are not to close (from intake port and valve tree?) i will try to get mine aprox. 10 cm from the valve tree for beter mix.
beautiful pics!!!!! the gear box is not Sadev?!
i forget to thenk you for youre helping me out!!!
Andy, why have you got the distributor fitted as well as the coil pack?
ok, so maybe only the turbo 2 hasnt got a duplex chain...or maybe its only my turbo 2 with a single chain.

They're known as coopers rings, they used to be the ultimate for cossies, before MLS gaskets were available.
!! I was very busy this last two-three month, unfortunatlly i coudnt com with Gianni to say "hello England" but we hope the next year we will cam together to spent a good time with you!!However this are my new stuff:
i think the images are talkig all
