Re: My EFI Conversion so far

in the second pic.......i mounted a hall sensor as a pick up from the mechanical petrol pump eccentric cam........when the lobe is going away from the sensor, cyl no.4 (or renaults no.1...nearest flywheel) is comming up to overlap...meaning its ready for injection.....so we have a sequental starting point!

Very clever with the mech fuel pump sensor mounting!

What ecu will you be controlling it all with?

Re: My EFI Conversion so far

i have the adaptronic 420d ECU installed.......i was put wise to the cam lobe by Scoff.....because i had forgotton about it being there in the first place!
there is a PDF Adobe manual included in the download and i would suggest to anyone going to convert their fuel system to READ IT............i didn't read it until recently and it would have saved me alot of bother......so now u know!

Re: My EFI Conversion so far

i've decided to go the origional route with my EFI manifolds and also the narrow spray pintle type injectors, the installation is fairly compact.....the throttle cable is tricky but i didn't want to cut it (a good original one is very hard to get)the original pipe work works out well.
i will have to make up some heat shields for the exhaust as the radiation from it will be extreme especially when it glows bright red!

Re: My EFI Conversion so far

the cam lobe is picked up by a hall sensor(5v from the ecu) , you use it as your no.2 trigger for injection....as far as i can remember the sensor is closest to the lobe just before no1 TDC.....all u want is a small signal as to cam position....then you can go full sequential injection....so it functions very well,Fordy!

the cam lobe sensor is mounted where the origional petrol pump used to be.....under no 4 plug on the block you can see a blanking plate with 3 bolts in it
there's a pic of it further back in the thread with the rad fan

The last couple have been members so unfortunately not! At least RTOC gets a mention when someone wants your manifold.
