Battery while garaged
Is anyone using an optimiser or similar to keep the battery in good shape???
I had a new Yuasa battery with a 5 year guarantee fitted about two years ago, but over the winter months when not being used, it loses its charge. I have it on a battery charger now...

Do you have an alarm, etc, draining the battery?
It doesn't take much current over several months to flatten them.

I use an optimate 4 for my bikes and cars and works perfectly for either maintaining or slow charging.
I would not use anything else.

The above, and when you come to put charge in it when the weather warms, use a trickle charger.

God knows how old my battery is now! I just disconnect it over the winter months and it always fires up with no issues come April/May. Its a Halfords battery.

I just disconnect mine now, saves taking it off to keep charging it.
