I seem to recall:
Cold: 3.5 to 6 Bar.
Hot: 1 to 3.5 Bar.
Perhaps someone with a more recent memory than mine can post something more accurate here.
Just wondering are you taking oil pressure reading from aftermarket capillary gauge? oe dash gauges are not known for their accuracy.
Also, worth bearing in mind what oil/filter you are using as this could possibly change oil pressure readings particularly when hot.
It should be circa 40-45 psi when fully warmed up at 3k.
yea its an after market digi dash, getting a reading of 30-35 psi.
ive changed the oil pump and im thinking they could supplied me with a non turbo pump. Does anyone have the renault part number for the oe pump for a turbo model?
using 10w 40's morrisons oil with a fram oil filter.
Where did you purchase the pump from? was it a complete unit or just part of it?

If it were me, before I got stuck into stripping down the bottom end - I would start by ditching that oil and use a recognised brand of oil then go from there.
30psi to 35psi is too low! There are 2 different types of pumps a geared pump and a vane pump with pressure relief. The latter is the gt turbo one. Can you remember what the pump looked like?
If the engine has a few miles on it, I would stick with a good quality semi synthetic such as Mobil super 2000 grade 10w 40
Yea the engine is brand new i've just rebuilt it, ive just ordered a new oil pump (the last one in the country) i'll probably get a phone call in the morning saying they can't find it or something lol. Thanks for the part numbers above made life much easier!!
The pump appeared to be the same as the Renault pump looks wise it was a completenew unit al-bett after market.
The oil i have init is morris oil not morrisons.lol
Hopefully the oil pump will come through from Renault, if not new internals are available from CGB Motorsport to rebuild R5GTT oil pumps.
The digital oil pressure gauge must be electric and not capillary, not heard of Morris oil everyone has their own preference I used to recommend Millers semi synth. Good to hear there's a proper OE oil filter on there too, there was a lad on the Facebook group last night that had a massive Halfords oil filter 3 times the height of the Fram/Purflux, unfortunately his engine lasted 5 minutes with that on due to low oil pressure! lol
Renault had 9 new oil pumps in stock about a month or so ago. I brought 1 so there was 8 left.
The clue was CGB's picture of a new oil pump clearly showed the date stamp on the casing as "2" so i asked my dealer and they had come back into stock
The oil pumps have come down in price then as they were something daft like £500!! I hope Renault are providing the correct one for the GT?
The price isn't high, Cgb just make it seem that way with their extortionate mark up then +vat
Yes 100% genuine GT turbo oil pump, new lower, upper body's and internals, it's not exchange either
well the new pump turned up today, it will be interesting to see what pressure this one reads. hopefully not 35psi . Along with one of scoffs afr gauges lm-3..

Sorry buddy it's on and sump back on , I haven't started it just to let the sealant go of over night, there was a visible difference with the pumps , I had a sharp word with our engine components supplier he's agreed to take the pump back and if needs be supply any damaged parts , but to be fair the sump was pretty clean with just a few small pieces of metal of which I'd expect from a new build engine .

huge difference in pressure on idle when cold, 48 psi... just another learning curve never trust a parts man.......
Its when the oil is hot that you really need to know.
yes just took round the block after I'd passed it on the mot retest readings of 12psi at idle at oil temp of 55 deg coolant temp @ 85
happy days ...
