Am I right in thinking when you switch the ignition off the temp gauge goes to its starting position?
As the one on my 5 does not, confused
Thanks Matt

Hi sie
Thought so, finding problem after problem
Yea, know where your coming from, I'm trying restore my raider I have had in the garage for about eight years
Temp gauge should sit at the bottom, not horizontalbut pointing down to the left the same starting postion of the fuel gauge.
Any ideas why my gauge is not going back to starting position?
It's been removed from the dials in the past and not been put back in the correct starting place.
Yea that would make sense has it had white dials fitted. I have purchased some from the club shop so will have to have a look. Confusing thing is when engine is on it's in the right position and goes to the first mark fan kicks in everything seams ok. Switch off remove the key and it still on the first mark, I suppose if I remove I will be able to set them up correctly and take it from there
Fan kicks in on the first mark? It's supposed to kick in around the second mark
Have a search around on the boards, there have been a few threads discussing where the dials are supposed to sit when the car is switched off.
There is probably this type of discussion on the OE dial replica development thread
Here is the thread. Lots of chat and a good fitting guide on page 8:
