Runaway boost?
Rebuilt turbo fitted and spec exactly as before. Went out for spin and started boosting. The turbo was keen to boost past the previous 15psi so I gave it a squirt and it appeared it would keep boosting to blow up time. I took foot off about 25psi. Spools up really quickly. Bit of smoke but it seems fine now.
I can't now give it full throttle as the boost just goes mad.
What have I done wrong - some thing missing or do I just need to extend the actuator?

Re: Runaway boost?
What turbo are you running? Have you got an AFR gauge? 25psi is a fair amount of boost, would check all pipework over and wind the actuator rod out to make it longer and decrease the boost. Is it a brand new acutator? could that possibly be faulty?

Re: Runaway boost?
T25. I have AFR and psi gauges. Boost is happening so rapidly I can't check AFR and psi together. Checked pipework is fine. Wound out arm but it's either mad 25+psi or nothing at all. This is between half turns on the arm.
To be honest, no boost is fine right now as the roads are greasy and it spins too easily. With the uncontrollable boost its useless.
I'd like to solve the problem though...

Actuator broken.... Try a bicycle pump with a piece of hose on and check if the actuator reacts as it should. It probably won't
