Let's keep this thread living, you're all welcome!
Only 23 days left for signing up!
Still pondering over weather to stay in a hotel or camp.
Have you got an address please Athur so I can have a look at local hotels
Google Circuit la Chatre
http://uk.hotels.com/hotel/details.h...e_newest_first
some members of the other forum stay here maybe thats an option .
but there are a few hotel nearby you can look at .
Read Robbie, you won't have to book the event
Has anyone booked the tunnel yet ?
10 days left, 7 cars from Germany (incl. Jörg) attending too!
Cool do you need any info from me Arthur am I booked in no track time needed European roads are good enough
I'll gather all the info from the 15th mate, that way i can book us in after that and maybe get the payment sorted before the end of January too.
Have you guys thought about a timetable regarding the tunnel yet? Ted, since you have to travel almost double the time as the rest, are you going to split up the journey?
I've checked the fastest route for you lot, zie Germans and us and our routes cross at Combles. Maybe if we make a good planning we could convoy the last 4 hours....
I have 7 cars from Germany, 7 (+4prov.) from The Netherlands and 5 from you which would make for an awesome big convoy!!
Anyone booked the tunnel yet or thought about a time to cross?
What would be a good time to get to La Châtre on the Friday ? Then we can work back from there. Do we know if TR guys have booked a crossing time yet ?
They're possibly going a day early...
I was thinking Friday morning around 0800
That's early
I was thinking of gathering somewhere around Combles France, this would give us the chance to convoy with ze Germans.
Somewhere around 13:00 would be reasonable as a departure time from there, maybe you lot could try to account for that? It's approximately a 1,5 hour drive or to round it off 2 hours from Calais
okay, let's say 13:00 is the departure time from combles, that would give us some spare time to get to the destination and still be reasonable for all of us i guess...
just had a look on the eurotunnel website, let's say you would take the 9:20 train. it will arrive around 10:55 (gmt+1 i guess), which leaves you over 2 hours to get at Combles (only 1,5h drive according to google).
if we then depart around 13:00 from Combles, we would be in La Chatre around 18:00 give or take. We then find a place to get our stomages filled and continu to either the camping or booked hotels.
let me know what you think....
13 attendees from the Netherlands now and 9 from Germany. Still 2 days left for signing up!
Can someone quickly clarify the price of the trip please.
Just trying to drum up a bit of local interest.
Also who is 100% confirmed as going now?
Ross
Route proposed = 1477km, thats 918 miles
Plus 180 miles from Coventry to the Chunnel and 180 miles back thats 1278 miles.....lets say 1300 miles.
Fuel at 30mpg in the Clio : 1300/30 = 43.3 gallons = 197L @ £1.10/L = £217 (or)
Fuel at 25mpg in the 21 : 1300/25 = 52 gallons = 236L @ £1.10/L = £260
Hotels for 4 nights @ (lets say) average €50 a night = £40 * 4 = £160ish (**Shared room may halve this cost**)
Food, drink, beer easily another €50 a day = £40 * 4 = £160ish
That makes it about £580 plus another £100 just for kicks and souveniers, round it up to £700.
This ^^ pretty much matches up with what I spent on last years trips, £500-£700, but remember you need a backup fund in case anything goes wrong!
Just the 2 nights hotel for me fri and sat come back Sunday.
Is there a cost for the event itself?
20 incl camping or thereabouts
Attendees:
- Robby and Audrey (Turboted)
- Ross + wife (slammed 66) camping - maybe track time
- junglist (Dan y) + wife (Carrie) camping No track time.
- Romil Davda - maybe track and camping
- Mojo5 + Wife - Hotel No tracktime
- Benjibrady + Harry
Okay, so this is the definitive list of people who are coming from the UK, i'd swear it was more but unfortunately it isn't....
First thing i would like to know wether or not you're going to be tracking? as this would mean i would have to need a few more details from you.
So let's start with the list of info i need for you to be registered to the meeting:
Last name - first name- e-mail address - license plate no. - no. of people who are going to the meeting (there are reduced rates for kids so let me know if you bring kids) - number of nights you are camping.
The costs for the meeting are €18 per adult, that includes a lunch, dinner and breakfast sunday morning, the costs for camping are €2,20 p.p.p.n.
I would like to have this info before monday so i can let you all know what the costs would be and get everything arranged with the Frenchies before the end of this month.
Once all that is settled we can look forward to an awesome trip accompinying 10 cars from the Netherlands and 9 from Germany
Regards,
Tuur (RTOC Int. Area Rep.)
