Top work look forward to the pics
Cheers Dre, and I've taken the hint Goobie you funny guy.
Only the last picture shows how glossy everything came out.
And one more,
Just got a 2nd coat of por 15 engine enamel on the block, annoyingly it needs a third , sorry Goobie no pics untill it's finished as you would expect I've gone for a subdued colour anyone want to guess it
And the winner is Phil I plumped for Chevy orange out of there choice, although on the internet it looks more red than orange. But in the flesh it's definitely orange
I had a look at the orange when i was last in frosts.
Certainly is bright
You should do all your bolt heads in the engine bay orange also
Painting bolt heads is dedication
I was hoping to get alot done yesterday but unfortunately it didn't happen, it took me 30mins just to find my timing chain oil seal anyhow I did manage to get the timing chain cover, sump, manifold, flywheel, clutch and the gearbox on and a few shiney bolt on parts had to cut the dayshort as I had a 12 hour night shift to do. Day out with the kids today and after only having 3hours sleep I doubt I'll go out there tonight some pics
Woah, I do like that painted block. Bet that's some serious colour in the flesh.
Your right there Goobie, it changes colour depending on light conditions I've booked lieu leave tonight and tomorrow night so I'm hoping to get alot done.
With my lump currently on the stand I'm tempted by this colour i have to admit......in reality tho i was amazed i even bothered to paint the last block i destroyed.....
Hats of to you for being arsed when time is at a premium
Cheers Phil, if you lived near by I'd let you use the paint as I only used about 10% of the tin and that was with 4 coats.
Hi that colour on your block is 1 lovely colour, what is the colour as looks brilliant
Smashing colour....literally!!
I'll bring my spare block to paint when I eventually get over to yours mate
Webber, the colour is Chevy Orange
Liam, I reckon that tin could put four coats on 6 c1j engines, I've hardly made a dent in mine. Pop round whenever you want. Either text or pm me
Just rolled in from the shed, yawn. Still finding things to bolt on including the horrible poly bushed wishbones.
I had to lift the engine up Then place the wishbones where they looked like they would line up and then drop the engine down and hope that they slipped into position which it did but I've only finished one side. Anyway mainly a picture update as I'm off to bed
And more
When you have a job/family/house you have no choice but to turn nocturnal....just without the sleep during the day.
Looks all worth the effort, it's immaculate
Looking lovely Neil top work mate
Cheers Phil 1 & Phil 2
What's the magician doing to yours then Phil ?
Having a few issues get the power downstream higher revs seems to be a boosting issue looks like its over boosting so once that's done hook up the launch control and see if I can improve on power from last time mate 👍
The orange looks lush can't wait to see it all back together
Cheers bud, I can't wait either
Got some more bits on today, getting the anti roll bar bushes on caused a few issues especially the end ones as the new link bar I've put in bolts the bushes up. Lots of swearing and a few g clamps helping me and it all fell into place
More pics for you Goobie
The quality and speed of your work is immense. love reading your thread your an inspiratation to us all
I've polished out a few paint defects on my driveshafts and have now fitted them both, I also spent a little while polishing my servo, sad I know pic
