    Sticky Thermostat

I have a standard temp genuine Renault thermostat that keeps sticking shut, it only does it when the car is warming up, temp goes just past the third line and will keep on rising until i grab hold of the top hose and give it a good moving around. Then it opens and is fine from then on.

Anything i can do to the thermostat to make it a little less sticky?

Or should i just stop being a tight arse and get a new one

Bin it for a new one, so cheap not worth risking an engine over.

So we all share some pikey traits then

What does drilling a hole in it do Alex?

    Re: Sticky Thermostat

Well if the stat was stuck if you drilled a load of holes in it it would allow water to flow through it. I don't recommend this though, I was only joking!

That said in the Cup manual it does mentioned about drilling a small hole at the top of the state to allow for better bleeding/cooling
