had the tyres removed and also started to clean these up ready for a repaint
still amazed how little these weigh

Engine bay tidy up looks great. I would try and get the header tank next to the brake reservoir pot, think that would work well with minuim fuss.
Ps, Liking the new alloys, excellent choice.
Thanks i am constantly looking at it now.
Well here is the latest (sorry its another pic)
Oil catch tank gone, also brake reservoir moved to the scuttle tray
You could get some stainless bolts and do away with the link pipe on the carb top looks great btw I like the reservoir move
Those superleggera's will look fantastic, very nice work sir
Cant wait to see these fitted
Cheers guys.
I got them fitted today and i am well pleased. i am still waiting for the decals to turn up tho
sorry for poor pics the rain is pouring down
Looking good Adam,
Very nice
These wheels suit fives down to the ground
Looks ace! Love the lowered look also.
love it and them wheels match a 5 perfect
cheers guys thanks for the kind comments , i am pretty pleased myself just want to tidy the brakes up behind them and also get the original red decals on the wheels to tie into the car even more.
Personally much prefer the new rims
Looking
Looking good mate
Thanks again for the kind comments
had a few treats in the post this morning
hope to clean this up enough to fit, couple of tiny dents to address but should be ok
its also time for the car to go back in the garage so it will be getting a full mop and detail but thought i would try a new polish and wax for dark cars
also the wheel decals turned up
Well the o.z stickers are shocking!! The radius is all wrong, should have gone straight to o.z which is what i am gonna have to do now
Hoping to get my calipers painted this weekend but cant decide if to go subltle and gloss black or look at me red
Did the previous wheels have a lower offset? The OZ's seem to sit slightly further inside the arches. Maybe it's an optical illusion caused by the differing designs of the wheels.
New wheels look miles better. I would do the calipers gloss black, clean but not in your face.
Cool!
Don't know about engineering eye. Maybe an eye for minutia
nice car! i like this wheels!
Stretched her legs today
that looks and them wheels are perfect
Such a tidy car! Love the cooler peaking out from behind the bumper
Nice job, pleased to see it fitted in nice and tidy
That is what we like to here
Wheels look stunning!
Any latest engine bay pics
B18ftmojo5 thank you sir very kind of you. I would suggest these wheels to anyone, they are over half the weight per rim of my old ones.
Jonny cheers mate, i know its not like me to go more than a day without posting an engine bay pic and there have been a couple of changes but i am in the process of cleaning up the inner wings so she would not be best pleased if i took a pic without her makeup on
nothing much to update, i was going to paint the inner arches my self as the engine bay was never done sadly but after a polish they have come up ok although the paint finish is naff so i have decided next winter its gonna be engine out and have the bay painted properly.
sorry for the poor pic quality my new phone doesn't seem to take them as crisp once i load them into photobucket
for the time being i cleaned up my chrome swirl pot bracket and i have added a forge dump valve to the pipe work
Not alot left in that bay now mate
it getting there thanks.
i know i really need to remove/move the header tank and swirl pot i just cant seem to get my head around removing that amount of coolant from an already small water system on an engine that i am asking 60-70% more from and it still being sufficient
I can't see that being a prob.
How much is being removed? It can't be that much.
Your probably right and I know it has been done enough times I am just a worrier.
And I also can't see how no swirl pot can be a good thing.
Then lastly I don't want the header tank on either arch so if I move to the scuttle I don't like the new pipe runs I am seriously tempted to gloss black my forge header tank
Brigsy has a very simple coolant system on his van, no coolant running through the carb, swirl pot removed etc and he beasts the living day lights out of it at 230hp and it's fine.
I wouldn't worry about it only reason i haven't ditched it all is because i quite frankly can't be arsed. I would rather spend my spare time driving it or fixing it when it breaks so i can drive it again.
Brigsy's is the one that causes me a headache because it is proof that my thoughts and worries are pointless but i can't help but worry
