is there a better way for doing this?

as above. i have an oil pressure gauge in the car. ( not the standard one) with the turbo feed in there to. is there a better safer way to do it? i have a leak from the swtch so need to change that anyway and someone told me that this was isnt the best as if it goes it sprays oil all over the place??

As long as the car hasn't ran then the oil pressure in the engine won't be there, i had my standard one leak- you look like a self harmer, but can do it with minimal mess in 15 minutes

i just thought. mines not even being used as the spade connector is not connected to anything so what if i took it off and (for now)put a bolt and a nylon washer there.
just until i can get a switch

The t-piece for the gauge is in the wrong place. It should be above the one way valve on the banjo.

If it were me I'd be loosing that one way valve as they fail all the time.. Then it's bye bye turbo

Remove the one way valve and look inside and you will see a Allen key bolt. Unscrew it and remove the internals an refit the outer to keep your pipe run in order.
I've had one jam and as Dave said. Bye bye turbo.

That sounds correct but fire up a picture first before you run the engine

Didn't know the one way valve could jam, there's food for thought.

Re: is there a better way for doing this?

That's the problem I have with my valve it's seized closed. Luck I checked the oil flow to the turbo when I started my car up.
So is it best to remove the internals or fit a new one??? I've just got another 1 for £9 but don't want that to stick closed. Doesn't it stop the oil from draining out the feed pipe or wont it matter???.

Re: is there a better way for doing this?

Lol I assumed this was common knowledge to bin the one way valves

Mine lasted a month back in 1998 when I first bought my gt turbo, god knows how any have survived this long..

Most just fit a braided oil feed to the turbo or as car.crash said remove the guts of it.

That fitting is fine (both parts)

The one way valve is on the oil feed to the turbo.. You can just see it in the pic bottom left

I put my T-piece at the top of the turbo. Easier to remove/work on.

That big linkage of solid pipework and connectors needs some support at the top, it'll vibrate and fracture the metal line near the union to the block if you're unlucky.
