I like that idea thank you i will get that done and see what ideas it brings.

Looks like we will be going front mount!
Bloody weather is killing progress.
I need to get a good welder to just weld a blanking plug on the modded cossie cooler.
w35ty were are you located??!!??
Things are slowing coming along.
I have finished the mods to the cossie intercooler and licked it in silver. i have also got my replacement strut brace back from the powder coaters
Trial fit
the pipe is very close to the drivers side engine mount so its all closer than i thought. passenger side has shed loads of room.
I like that!
Looks bang tidy behind the front bumper
Keep posting plenty of pics on how and where you run the pipes please.
Can you also do a breakdown of what you used once you've finished?
e.g 1 x 90degree bend etc....Cheers
This looks awesome. Perfect fitment and style.
Cheers. the pipe work up the front to the carb is the one that really doesn't want to be there.
It looks like the rad will have to move left slightly.
I will happily post all pics and pipes used
Right think i have the pipes worked out so just need to order some nice ones up.
Just need to trim the valance as it just touches so will wear over time
i also got my new strut brace on just so i got something put together today
Got most of the new pipe work in place just waiting for a 90 degree and my mikalor clamps to show up.
All the new alley tubes have nice swaged ends on as well.
there are a couple of points i don't like so need to give these some thought these are the only places that touch but its just very tight either side of the rad.
Well its back on the ground now I need to do some refinement either side of the rad still
i also refitted the discs after having them skimmed and painted the centers to keep them looking tidy. (thanks jonny for the idea)
I do need to paint the calipers probably gloss black
Could you tell me the width of your cooler I need to know if mine is the 4wd one?
Dont forget to add a thermostat
Hickman. i will measure in the morning. the 4wd are alot thicker than 2wd
spooky thanks. i does have a thermostat in its just never a had a jubilee clip round it. (is on the to do list but thanks for the reminder)
Looking good mate
Cheers.
Its had its shake down drive today and all seemed well.
Bought this which should get rid of the standard hoses and let me locate the air filter behind the grille.
Back in pieces yet again!!
Rad flush
slimline fan
external oil cool
are the jobs this time and hopefully that's it then.
Little cooler in place
Looking good mate whats next on list
Cheers mate.
the list seems never ending:
Aem afr gauge - awaiting delivery
Move header tank
Fit oil catch tank - Sat in shed
fit malpassi fpr and fuel pressure gauge - Sat in shed
move air filter to behind grille
Full detail
have a rest
get it checked and set up on the rollers
Coming on nicely
At the moment, this car keeps me visiting the forum mate!
I love it !
Thanks for the comments.
Jonny - done you over head photo idea which was great but no have a lot if tidying and relocation to do.
45_cb - thanks mate that is kind of you glad you like it
been trying to slowly tidy the engine bay still a long way to go but heres a game of sport the difference
i have moved the
air filter
tidyied the oil breather hoses will fit my oil catch tank soon
i have also moved the blled valve and some of the pipe/wiring by the turbo
like i say still lots to do
Cool. Might look tidier to remove the silicone hose loop from the right side of the carb top and instead cap each outlet with a bolt/tie??
Looking lots neater mate
Trev, yes it would look better, i had intended to cut them off and weld them up.
Cheers jonny its addictive
On my first two GTT's I did loads of minimisation in the bay. It became a bit obsessive, lol.
Edit - Room for that header tank just in front of the brake fluid reservoir. Get's rid of a fair amount of coolant hose <whistle>
All good. It's a good project to watch this.
Thank-you.
I am still in massive wheel debates (but have been since i bought it)
Its just amazing how you can always find jobs or things to change.
I am kind of kicking myself as i like the oil catch tank i bought but adding stuff to the bay is going against my main goal
i like your thinking,
i have just written my pipe work plans for a chap via pm and this may not suit everyone and i am sure there are different methods but here is mine
Air filter to turbo
.cut telephone hose
.100mm long 60mm od (from memory) insert pipe
.flip second half of the hose to face forward
Turbo to intercooler
.90 degree reducer 51mm (turbo outlet on mine) to 57mm
.57mm od x 100mm alley pipe
.90 degree 57mm id
.57mm od x 200mm alley pipe
.90 degree reducer 57mm to 62mm (think thats the intercooler inlet size)
Intercooler to carb top
.90 degree reducer 62mm to 57mm (think thats the intercooler outlet size)
.57mm od x 250mm alley pipe
.90 degree 57mm id
.57mm od x 200mm alley pipe
.humped silicon joiner pipe 57mm id (i used a humped one to allow for engine movement)
other jobs
.rad had to move one mounting hole to the near side
.i had to cut and extend the top rad hose (used 30mm x 100mm pipe)
.i had to extend my fan switch wires
Mods to fit the Intercooler
.cut off and weld up the 90 degree pipe on top of the intercooler
.cut the side supports off the mounting lugs to allow tight fitment to the renault cross member
.cut off the extra casting on the endcaps so nothing pertrude further than the front face of the intercooler
i used this company for my hoses as the put the swaged ends on the metal ones as well
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Metal-Allo...item3f10f73c3e
all this is to fit a 2wd cossie cooler, the 4wd is bigger
hope this helps any questions just shout
adam
another engine bay pic i am sorry to say (but its raining and i am stuck indoors ) but was please with the look of the filter straight on the turbo
That is looking really good now mate
Hate to say it but your air filter was probably better where it was originally (performance wise)
thanks, its still slow progress, have the parts just not the time.
yeah i completely agree performance wise but i am no racer just like to tinker so i will take loosing that pipe over the gains this time.
Looks great
Love engine bay pics as I really try and sus what's been moved to simplify and get tips for mine......when I can be arsed to tinker myself
cheers, there are some really nice bays on here and like yourself i spend ages looking then going and moving one bit on mine and as you guessed i take a pic and post on here
i have just had some black vac hose turn up so i can relocate the bleed valve to the scuttle tray then i still need to pull my finget out and move this header tank but i seem to be putting it off for some reason.
i am tempted to paint it balck and then do like Jonny done and get a black hose from the breather pot to take your eye away it.
Nice and tidy mate
Thank you.
I have fitted the black vac hose and relocated the bleed valve to the scuttle tray.
I am also feeling very guilty as my other half bought me the oil catch tank i asked for but after fitting it today i am kind of thinking what is the point i have the rocker pipe t'd on to the sump pipe so could just have a little breather filter.
Hmmm
you can see my point
Sell it and take her out for a meal with the proceeds.
that is very tempting
here is a pic of today's effort and amazingly its not an engine bay pic!!!!
Looks good mate, whats black face gauge at the bottom?

Its a digital boost gauge but was tempted to fit a mechanical boost gauge after reading a thread on here.
i have just purchased an old set of wheels, they are in good condition but desperate for a clean. to be honest i think i will give them a full refurb before putting them on.
the are oz superleggera's 15x7 and the weigh in at only 5.2 kgs per rim which is one of the lighter wheels available. my plan like i said is to refresh the grey fit new red decals and i am very tempted to wrap them all in toyo 888r's although maybe a little ott for what i use the car for.
oh and the pic is the car they came off no way would my brakes look that bad
Those OZ's will look very nice when fitted mate The R888's will give it a real meaty type of look, but again like you said depends on what your using the car for
Thanks i do hope so. i am loving how light they are.
I think the 888r's are overkill as i don't use the car in anger so will chuck a set of Yokohama s drives on as they have done me proud on the current wheels
