Thanks mate
Thanks mate
Good update
Brass bleed screws FTW. Not the price of them tho!
Cheers wanted to do some more today but it's pissing down
Yeah the brass bleed screws are much better mate but as you said not cheap for what they are
It pays to lube/spray the dizzy cap points and rotor arm with some WD40
Looks really smart
Ok mate thanks for the tip will do that
got some door cards the other week some phase 1 rears as mine are sagging phase 2 type and some phase 1 fronts refurbished by the previous owner just waiting on some new speakers then i will fit them when i have the time
hopefully the weather is better tomo then i can get the water pump done
got a bit done today done a system flush as i put in speed flush the other day but by time the engine fully cooled so i could flush it was dark. I then fitted the water pump, waiting on some new hoses to come then i can finish off
old water pump off
new water pump and gaskets
as it was easy access thought i would change the oil filter
new temp sensor and thermostat
new water pump bolts
water pump all bolted on with new belt
new blue ht leads on just need to tidy them up with some cable ties
dre
You're lucky to have got those bolts out without any snapping
Keep the pics coming
All of them came off with ease lol this little motor ain't been bad to work on, my Williams was harder work, nice having the room .
cheers Nad
coolant system all sorted now and working a treat got my hoses to and changed them to, still got to do a little tidy up with a few things
re rooted my boost pipe instead of going over the top
new coolant and breather hoses
tried to fit my old air box but it just don't fit with the bread bin intercooler so just going to keep the cone filter
cleaned
new relay
pipes all fitted
changed my wipers as the straight ones at the end were useless just need to get some bolt caps for them
got some Avo springs 30mm drop as i dont like the drop and feel of the springs on there at the moment my spax shocks are good but the springs are to harsh and low, might as well change the top mounts and bearings to so got them to hopefully do them tomo
dre
The bolt caps are part of the wiper arm.
Coming along nicely mate.
nice one for the stickers GTTurbo mate will get it fitted soon
Good stuff mate. If you are struggling for wiper caps I am sure I have a couple knocking around for you, just cover postage and there yours.
That would be great mate let me know how much you want
Nice work fella, keeping busy out of interest where and how much were Avo coil springs? cheers
Dre, sorry mate bit confused is it the caps that cover the 10mm nuts or the caps for the end of the blade that holds the blade on?
I will have a look Dre
They are riveted on from memory, got some in the unit will have a look
They are, see attached picture
Nice 1, as they do go back on but easily pop off.
Yeah easy pop off style
Now just got to source some front shocks as mine are fooked
got some HT lead clips
wanted to change my springs today but it looks like one of my shocks has had it plus i couldn't believe the amount of floating with the springs that were in there i did hear clocking noise now a ten now know why
i have read that lowering springs with the phase 1 set up can be a bitch the new Avo springs look near on identical as the spax so i need to get some new front shocks and sell these new springs or get coilovers and sell both sets
never even needed spring compressors to take off
other side
avo on the left spax to the right
changed the top mounts and bushes
new
2 sets of springs and no shocks lol
stripped the arb bushes got new ones on order
will update when i have got my shocks or coilovers then no more spending as i have spent a small fortune lately
for my later project got a t25 hybrid be a while till i fit this with some cams and things
dre
got a few more bits for the 5 managed to find some shocks for £40 going to fit my springs, with new top mount ring and bearing and give them a paint over
going to fit these on them
i put my sticker on so painted it all black first
got some powerflex arb bushes will fit them once i fit the shocks
got myself an oil cooler with thermostat
also got my low temp radiator fan switch and rear window sticker
dre
Coming on nicely that mate
Good work buddy. I like a project with loads of pics.
Cheers peeps do like taking a photo or 2 lol
Sticker looks good
Good work enjoying the updates
Def coming along nicely mate.
Love the pics etc. Makes me want to get my butt in gear and do some more work on mine!
Rear badge looks a lot better now
stripped the spax shocks i bought as im going clean them up and put my springs and new top mount rings and bearings.
old springs
new springs
you can see the difference in the phase 1 and phase 2 top mounts. The bottom half is the exact same on both phase's its the top that's different.
so i just used the bottom half off the phase 1 and im going to clean up the top half off the phase 2. Not got much else done, in no rush as the car is off the road anyway.
also got a few more bits for the 5 a few were Christmas presents form the misses
got a breather pipe restrictor as im missing the large one and a new relay
got a breather pot need to polish it up
piper cam 270
got a new air filter for Christmas as i wanted one enclosed and since fitting my bread bin intercooler and moving my header tank there is no chance in fitting my original air box and as i have vents in my bonnet there is always a chance of water getting to the cone filter i have now so this one will do me nicely was imported from italy
also got a t shirt off the misses and some key rings to
bought myself a oil catch can to
so i am going to busy for awhile
Love that airfilter. Where did you get oil catch tank from please mate
hi Chris the oil can was from ebay was only £22 delivered here is the item no 230592901035
Thanks mate car looks amazeing
cheers fella cant wait till the weather gets better and i can work on it and drive it
I know what you mean all its done is rain here today I don't mind working in the cold its the rain that does my head in
