Yo.
Get one of these for your PC:

http://www.amazon.com/Classic-USB-Su.../dp/B002JAU20W
Then d/l an emulator (the console in programme form) and various roms (the games):

Then play away on all the games you used to love.
Edit: I haven't actually used a SNES emulator before. I don't know how you get the pad to work with one but it must be possible. I assume the pad itself has some S/W in which you can assign the keyboard strokes to the various buttons and the buttons for the emulator will be customisable.
I have used MAME previously, which is an arcade machine emulator. Fantastic fun.
The alternative is to play in your browser. The experience is never as good AFAIK:

If you have trouble getting a pad to work then you can d/l 'joytokey' and do all the assigning, even for complicated modern controllers like XBOX360.

That's everything you need mate.
Cheers trev, I've got the emulators but I need satisfaction in the form of real snesing.
Since I'm guessing there's technically no difference between the real thing vs a PC-based emulator with a USB SNES pad, are you saying that you're after the other tangible things like physically handling the games and the console?
Edit: just seen your next post. Have you been using emulators with just a keyboard? That can be really pants.
Also, I have a HDMI cable that runs from my lappy to my telly. You could even play the game on your tv like a real SNES
Ah, err, right.
I think I finally threw my SNES and games away last year, I can't remember for sure. I'll be finding out if I still have it or not shortly. If I do, I'll let you know.
We can do swapsies with your GTT
I love proper retro gaming, i'm a sega man myself as brough up on them, but it has to be on the actual console, still play operation wolf on my master system plug in convertor for the mega drive. love the chunky feel of it, not to mention no load times!
god gaming was better back in the day!
Golden axe on mega drive FTW!
I really need the original final fantasy games too, no not number 7 on the ps...
streets of rage > golden axe imo
There's only one real way to play snes and its just not the same on the pc. Only console I will play but I don't think I have starwars I will look though.
Which game is it Jon? The first one? Looks like they did a trilogy

All 3 I've found a boxed trilogy
Nice one mate. I'm guessing then you actually have the console already?
Nice one I only have starwing anyway
Ahhh the hours spent on that
Ace.
You and I had a similar console-based childhood by the sounds of it. Though we also did the Sega thing for a while, with both Master System and Megadrive (and CD).
Ruined my GCSE's.
I wasted weeks of my life playing Mario Kart against my younger brother. Beating him at that was all that mattered when I wasn't playing outside.
Tower burger!
That's badicle
Remember a game called Star wing fx. I think. Great game.
Swos on the Amiga. That's the best retro gaming you'll get.
Legend of zelda a link to the past was my personal favourite for the snes still got it and f-zero
Heck don't start me on the retro machines makes me feel old I even have an old Atari 2600 in the attic and still got Manic Miner and jet set willy on the old ZX spectrum but they`re just far too unplayable now..Monkey Island on the Amiga was a laugh and sensible soccer drove me nuts. This set up below is one I blagged for my son when he was younger and is still a giggle every now and again .(sorry about the big pics)...
