Bummer.
Wait for TC and the others who've had these fitted to come back with ideas before doing anything Blunty.
Surely the worst that could happen though is that the stickers are pulled off and the glue removed with some suitable chemical?

thats the thing if i remove the stickers it will pull the paint off. obviously the glue the protective cover was leaving could be removed but i honestly dont dare to try and remove anymore as it just seems get tougher
That sucks, do you think the fresh paint hadn't helped? Do feel for you tho
the actual decals look fantastic cant fault them, its just the protective film thats not playing ball at all, so id say the paint really wouldnt matter in that aspect.
Hello chaps- what's happened? I'm not really understanding the protective cover? We don't put covers on the front of the the decals.
Blunty PM me mate and tell me what happened.
Cheers TC
Keep us posted as to what has happened chaps. I'm finally looking at purchasing a set when I can get in contact with Mike, so would like to know what has possibly gone wrong. Hope it gets sorted out for all concerned.
all sorted now guys, spoke to tc on the phone and been informed that they dont have a film over the top its just a case of sticking them and getting the bubbles out job done.
i will just say it wasnt my decision to remove what was thought to be a top film it was already happening before i knew about it, as when you look down the one side thats been done and nothing removed looks perfect
so panic over guys at least someone has made the balls up so you dont have to
may i also add what a top fella topcat is a real credit to the club
Cheers Blunty. Glad it's all sorted and the 5 will be looking the nuts
Get some pics up when the decals are on.
thanks again davo really good of you fella
its going to be a few weeks now until anymore gets done, as my mate goes in for heart surgery this coming tuesday so im stuck until he goes back work, the original plan was get the decals on,waxoyl then fit side skirts, mot and tax it monday then all was sorted.
Well done guys for sorting out the confusion so qucikly...that's what makes this club great in my opinion
Does anybody know if Mike is around? I'm ready to buy a set but just want to make sure they'll be with me by Wednesday as I want to get them fitted for Sundays retro show
I'm seeing mike tomorrow mate, will let him know you want a set and get him to contact u
Hi all , does anyone know where I could get my hands on a adjustable fuel pressure reg this week end in the west midlands area !!!!!
Really glad to hear this has been sorted.
That fitting guide (as mentioned in related threads), needs to be park of the package at the point of sale
Just a quick question lads, has anybody fitted their decals themselves without expert help? Looks like I will not be able to fit mine until Friday now and I want them ready for Sunday. However, the friend I had lined up to help me who does vehicle wrapping can't make it. So I'm thinking of doing it myself.
Anybody have any tips please?
Thanks
I should have added, there's no way I can get my body kit off. The arches have been fitted using grip fill (or similar) and aren't going anywhere!!
Just ordered my decals from Mike, and I've found somebody local who wraps vehicles (amongst other things) and he's going to fit them for me at home. His fee? Lots of cups of tea, not bad hey
Can't wait to get them on the car!
Sorry mate...pity you're not nearer to me, perhaps I could have convinced him to fit two sets!!
Hi Mike,
The decals have arrived...thank you for sending them next day guaranteed
They look great stretched out on the dining table, I bet they'll look even better tomorrow on the car
You could have lined them up better
The new ones are really are flippin' fantastic.
If your question on differences is genuine, perhaps the colours on the new ones appear slightly richer all over than the originals? Or is it the angle/flash of the camera, or perhaps the age of the originals?! In any case, who cares, they are awesome
Any idea when you are making a start on decals for a black 5 ?
If you think how long those Renault stickers have been sitting around though within Renault, a lot of them will be tatty and more than likely wont stick proper or peel off nicely off the backing.
Also from pictures of last group buy from Raj compared to these, the quality is so much closer to original with the fad pattern and for that reason then price will have to be higher as it was needed to use a different print technique to get it this close.
What does the price of OE decals in 2007 have to do with how much bespoke versions are in 2013? Weren't the OE ones over £200 last year? Wouldn't that be a more useful measure?
In any case, the vagaries of price v supply/demand are irrelevant, the point is, people agreed to buy them at the stated price, and have since pulled out, or so it would appear based on the posts above.
Like we said before mate- no ones holding guns to heads to buy them. Last time we checked at Renault the were over £200. You can buy a set of originals off eBay for £170 but they won't be in brand new condition.
6 years ago fuel was 89 pence a litre.
People were told of the price before committing to buy. That price is delivered as well- Royal Mail special delivery is £8. Plus the money for packaging, plus the time of me, Scott or mike packaging them and going to the post office.
Bargain if you ask me
What was the difference between the original price of these new decals through TC and the price they are now sold at through Mike? I had thought it was minimal?
If it's about people putting their names down for something before the price has been set, and then pulling out when they realise the price is too much for them, then as long as it's done at the very first indication of what that price is going to be, then fine. Otherwise I'd put my name down for buying a new Faberge egg, then wait until they've spent all the time, money and effort in producing it and then pull out because it's eight million quid and I think it's too much for me.
I didn't say you shouldn't give your 2p's worth, I'm just asking that you clarify that it's value is in fact 2 pence.
EDIT: Interesting to note that if you were to buy an OE decal set from Renault in 2007 at £75 plus say £10 delivery, that comes to exactly £100 in today's money...

More bollox. Prices change with the times big whoop wanna fight about it? No.... Accept it
The copy's are good and once on I doubt the difference is noticeable... Pointless pointless bickering.
Not an opinion or 2 pence as your not allowed to think for your self anymore with out somebody getting offended or making sure there point is more valid.
It's a thread offering a product.
Four star petrol was 38.9p per litre when I started driving, just saying.
thought we was doing people a favour reproducing these.i must have missed something???? pop down Renault and ask for some ......
