Well the 5 needs insurance and was thinking that the agreed value was a little out of date. How much do those of you with agreed value have it insured for, how much and who with?
Also how much do you recon for mine?

Mine is 570 a year with a guarantee of 15k and all mods declared mate and that is with Peter James insurance
Mine is 5k with Heritage Classic, think it was £250 this year.
Yours is easily 10k+ due to alot of o.e parts now being irreplaceable.

With some of the high prices floating about at the moment and that black low mileage example going for a lot of money, id say £15k for agreed value.
Thanks for the replies so far. The prices of the Black and Tungy were inflated slightly by commission and I thought were faintly ridiculous and unreal, though I suppose they did go for decent sums. I actually don't think she is as perfect as some out there so wasn't thinking quite that much TBH but keep them coming.
I was thinking of changing my agreed value to £7k as its originally on £5k at the moment
I usually say £4k for my tungy but have considered going up to 8k incase some numpty plows into it.
Wow! Think I'll have to change mine at next renewal.
I'm with footman James £6000 agreed value £115. 4000 mile limit
Done 400 in last 2years:
£5500 agreed on mine
Footman james - £110 for the year, limited miles 3500 I think!
Once again all mods from oe declared.
Just taken out another year of insurance, not with sureterm anymore, they wanted £181 for it, they have been taken over by lancaster insurance. One insurance company said my car was not a classic they wanted to charge me 3 times the amount compared to my modified 5 which I am insured with them.
Went with Adrian Flux clasic car for £139 with £7k agreed insurance.
I guess with these quotes, that doesn't include protected ncb?
I was getting nowhere near those figures when I insured Whitey last year, as having pncb effectively doubled the premium.
Not sure whether to ditch it this year, as I'm fairly sure it's a money spinner, and no doubt the following year's premium would increase regardless should you have made a claim for whatever reason.
Hi Mart, this company adds no claims bonus so I dont see why they wont do protected, none of my 5s have had NCB before. Will add money on due to accident but not sure on how the discounts work with NCB though so might still get cheaper but if worthwhile I am not sure.
Assuming your going for a classic policy mart you wont need to declare ncb.
Im with Kinetic through flux insurance. Got it for £170 with 5 NCB, 25yo, male, 5000miles, mechanic and a post code in the sticks. I earn NCB with mine which is a win for classic cover.
I have an agreed value of £3k! Do i need to be putting this up?
Also I have 5000 limited miles and have done 250 in 1 week! Thats the most its done in the last 12 months of driving haha
I've always been asked for ncb years each & every time I've phoned insurance companies, so why would that not be applicable if enquiring about a classic policy?
Crazy thing is, all the companies I phoned last year (of which there were plenty!) said that insuring Whitey as a 'classic' wouldn't reduce the insurance quote that much, if at all anyway.
Dale, only reason I mentioned about pncb is that I've got 20 years of if, hence would rather 'protect' it should the unfortunate ever happen, rather than the ncb slate being wiped clean, so to speak.
As said though, I'm pretty sure all this protected ncb spiel is exactly that, and nothing more than a money spinner for the insurance co's. Still, better the devil you know & all that...
No need on a classic policy for ncb. The whole idea of a classic policy is that you can use your ncb on another vehicle for the daily running about. Classic policy's are far cheaper than any regular policy matey.
Put it this way, i would be paying £600+ easy for tpft on a normal policy, but i pay just under £200 fully comp with all the extras on a classic. Mileage is limite however, the more you do the higher the quote i guess
Classic car insurance is normally based on if you have insurance for a main car, I take it they will accept company car for that. But has been said classic car insurance very rarely take NCB into account, I found out the hard way with this and lost 5 years no claims going this route but luckily was driving a second car which was adding NCB anyway, so wasn't as painful but still has cost me a bit in the long run.
