Gone mate...got pipped at the post
Got my old one here but i reckon its going to be 400+ to rebuild
Exhaust turbine has snapped on my unit..however the remainder of the shaft spins freely with no play. Ive been quoted £420 + vat from cr turbo's for new shaft and new .49 rear.
Rang up td today and adam was busy, george said it will need to be sent down to be inspected before price..probably be similar? Trying to go for the cheapest as money tight really. Need to get a unit sorted before flogging the gt2560
Mine literally came complete in a box all boxed up and new. All he did was bolt on my housings. I ran it for a few hundred miles and sold it for £250. Someone got a bargain.
Saying that I think he did me a deal on the price but it gives you a idea.
He said if I wanted it done cheaper then I need to source a s15 t28 and he would put my housings on that.
Ill try ringing him again tomorrow. How much did a complete chra cost??
I think you have to be *trade* but mellet make and supply housings.

If you find what your after on there but cant order it.. i could probably get the turbo guys behind our unit that use them to order/deliver it to you?
Just had mine rebuilt 300 it cost me adam was alot more then that.
Turbo rebuild.co.uk danny his name is top bloke and will give free advice mention me
I've been quoting hybrid turbo's quite high for a while to subtract the business as its not something we like to get involved with anymore. People may think a hybrid turbo is slapped together, but we can build 10 standard turbos in the time 1 hybrid takes so we refuse to do them now.
Half the calls and emails I get given are for hybrids and less than 1% of people actually pay for them, so it's almost pointless me sitting down for a set time writing out wasted emails or spending 10 minutes each time explaining to people their options on hybrids every day, on the phone. It's far easier for me to say, no!
I've only written this so people understand why we were expensive on quotations.
Any cheaper than £420 adam?
Hi Brigsy, this might help; my friend runs the RS Cosworth breakers in Portsmouth he has loads of good working units. Let him know I sent you and see if he can help.

Ask to speak to Gary.
Thanks Mike
We have literally no involvement now, mate.
I had a car come down today for a "warranty", which so happened to be a warranty turbo that wasn't producing boost on a Renault 5. The car was brought to us and one intercooler pipe had a very loose jubilee clip, a vacuum pipe was held on with gaffa tape and the throttle cable was so slack the car would never have seen full throttle. There were more problems too but I spotted these three issues in about 60 seconds.
This turbo was fitted by a qualified mechanic and we spent a week trying to explain problems to resolve the lack of boost the customer was complaining of over the phone. When the car turned up today I felt like walking away. I generally have no time for people that waste my time but the customer was stuck in the middle. I sorted his slack throttle as a fagets anus throttle cable and told him to sort the boost leaks he had everywhere.
I deal with this problem every day, with every car and its tiring. I do not need the extra hassle
This issue struck a particular nerve because the mechanic was like talking to Ian Nixon, no ****ing clue at all.
Gt2554rs here low miles got it off Alastair but not used.
