Hi all, returning member after a few years out in the cold. I still have my r5 gtt. Infact I've done around 400 miles since my last post.
I've been adding new touches which I never did during my full restore originally. It wasn't a restore to factory etc. as when I bought it in 2001 it was like the tuning pinnacle and I went daft buying all the tuner upgrades and a carisma kit to boot.
All lay lying under my bed for a few years after that until my old man got fed of it sitting on the drive and got to work pulling it apart. Welding it and fitting the new parts.
Well, I've grown up a bit since then... And a lot of my tuning parts have fallen to the way side.
My Kevlar 400£ clutch from bb tuning lasted around 400 miles before my gearbox failed and knackered the clutch plate.
My gaz coil overs lasted about 100 miles before the rough roads where I live broke one of them.
My carisma front end split once I changed the suspension as the ride became to soft.
But still after all that and the over priced tuner parts that must have cost me a lot of money, only saved my sanity as we completed all the work ourselves, I'd not part from my 5 ever.
The car has been stored in dry storage since the rebuild back in 2007 and is still in top class condition. It's also strange to see the cover cars I used to be envious of when I was younger on ebay looking tired and worn.
