jeez that look's quick! I guess having 1500BHP helps though!
I love the way he used to stab at the throttle mid-corner - quite unusual really but very effective!

Re: renault turbo with genius at the wheel
he still used that same technique when the f1 cars went non turbo, suppose it was a way of feeling where the grip was on the rear wheels
anyways would anyone know the outcome if that lotus(qualifying trim) was put in a 1 mile drag race with a modern day f1 car?

Re: renault turbo with genius at the wheel
I've often wondered the same! I guess modern F1 cars would be quicker due to them having much better traction and grip etc but for raw power you can't beat those 1980's bad boys!

dont forget the gearboxes of today aswell, back then if u missed a gear u was toast, i dont remember any of todays missing gears
id say the money has to be on the modern day f1 car, but id have that lotus over any modern car

Bring back manual gearbox's!!! But today it woudl be classed as health and safety... "cant have a driver taking hands of the steering wheel" and all that BS!!

also kick out all the factory teams and have it just like the good old days with the private teams, i find it very upsetting seeing williams where they are now
