sorry to hear that rob, being a wood butcher myself , can imagine the pain your going through,( cut the top of my finger many years ago) , gather your covered insurance wise? you will be off work for quite sometime i would imagine, i did my time under a old skool carpenter many years ago, he lost two fingers of one hand to a surface planer, but he still managed to do 95% of the things he could do before the accident, as he said " you adapt " chin up mate , dont let it get you down.
we are travelling sunday morning so wondering when the actual start is also any conveys on sunday morning happening from south/south east m23/25 thanx mick
You can buy entry on the day but from Pod/VW event .
There will poss be some RTOC officials there on the day to buy tickets to run but I can't be certain hence why I said these were only in advance .Pod may also have tickets to run left on the day .
34 full ticket packages left .If someone wants the entry only then I will split them out .Might as well try and get some of that back
If you are attending then please buy the ticket through the club if you can rather than on the day
I'll even go so far as to send tickets and trust that you'll all pay up on the Monday after if pay day is an issue
I'm going and will happily hold the tickets if members want to purchase them from me on the day. If your ok with it clee then post them over please
Thanks .There may be someone there ,Miller and I think Scoff is there 'on tech duty ' for some of the runners if not then I'll post you some
That's good news!
I suspect a few people will just turn up and run on the day if that's the case.
i cant risk it, i have no idea if i can go until the night before essentially
as such i wont be investing
i'm out
cheers for the good wishes
cast is off now which is a massive relief for me, i have a mould made for finger to keep it from bending on me and protect the work they did during operation
im able to drive the van and car (ish) but cant push it to drive this weekend coming at pod, it would be too much and too risky, GUTTED!!!!
thats the whole point, thought i couldnt without being stung for £30 or something for VW entrance as well, so like £90 just to run, puts it out of budget and i cant risk driving all the way there at silly am just to have an argument on the gate and come home
if i can be guaranteed entrance and runs on the door for the £60 then i'd go for it
It's 60 on the day .This seems to be one of the most confused events ever ......
We bought tickets for the Sunday test and tune .I had no idea the VW thing was even on till someone mentioned camping etc .
This is the link to the event rtoc bulk bought tickets for and the prices are all correct as shown here .
http://www.rwyb.co.uk/performance.php
The vw thing only came into it for the camping passes .
Just to clear things up!
Enterance on the Sunday is £10 on the gate, then it's £50 to run, that totals £60 for entrance and running. Ticketing on the Sunday is down to pod not the vw event.
I'm sure clee would post you a ticket out or a ticket to another member for you to pick up and pay for on the day. Its no big deal really ad the club has purchased 40 tickets, I'm pressuming that whatever the club doesn't sell on they won't get a refund for?
If you want to make tickets available on the day then as carcrash has already offered or indeed me or any other long term memeber I'm sure wouldn't mind having some tickets sent to to keep for runners who want to pay on the day. Seems a Shame to put people off just for this.
Don't cry everyone!
yep
Excellent, thanks for clearing this up!I will be there early Sunday morning with 60 in my pocket to exchange for leaving 11's up the strip ;-)
what time is the sign on/track open? :-)
11's wish i could make it
Ha I feel like I'm letting the side down not running I hammer my 5 daily I don't see why another will hurt it I'm off this week and going over the 5 and will make my mind up by thursday.. Would be rude not to use the AA for a lift back
Midlands guys I'm meeting two other 5s at junction 21 on m1 at 6:30AM on Sunday morning And stopping for breakfast somewere before pod... All welcome
Only 5-6 of us running? Come on people get your money out
Count us three in were running 3 5s from the midlands
just checked on pod website too, gates open at 8am, track opens 10am supposedly, so i'll be aiming to get there about 9/9:30
I aim to attempt to break my French slag... Again.
Looking for the 13s mate. Low 13s. Engines not making mega power due to cam timing being retarded for a moaaaaahasivve turbo. 190HP @20PSI. So some good driving should see me through. You running fella??
I may have a dibble dabble the last time I did pod was 8yrs ago in my last 5 so it's more for a laugh really (as long as it Dosnt pop) see what these VW lads are all about I have standard engine so not expecting the world.. Some full throttle changes should get me through I don't even know what times these do standard..
I think they do 15s standard... ish. Shouldnt pop mate if its set up fueling wise
Spending all day onit tomorrow going over it so I will have a tickle with it might even winde it up a little more just to see how it performs against the vws this will be the last thing this year I do with the club before rebuilding another engine ready for next year.. I'm just surprised there is so few going.. Puzzling
More protection from det than performance gain.
You not hitting the black stuff tony? Think that leaderbord needs updating maybe next year.. Is the scoff bringing the beast? I haven't seen his yet show the vws who's boss
Scoff wont be racing but I hear Glenn will looking to his the 10s
Unfortunately I can't make this event but I'll be going next year hopefully. I fancy a go for a laugh!
Reality check anyone
With only 6 tickets sold I very much doubt we will have POD next year . 2k loss on top of whatever we lost at Blyton .
It is very annoying...
Thats going to be real shame if it doesn't happen next year since its been very popular past years and its prob the only event i really look forward too.
Considering it was busy past years and gone quiet this year might be interesting to see why its so quiet and then maybe work on that to make sure it doesn't happen next year, if same happens again then fair do's looks like the popularity of it has died off and doesn't warrent doing anymore
We always make a loss even when it is popular but it's getting to be unsustainable.
Well Iv only been in the club a few months didn't the club do any research into this? Or even make a list? Were did they get the numbers from? As I said at blyton who Evers there I would really like to meet up.. Has anyone asked what is happening to the clubs numbers? Is it a case of you've all been there and done that? I can respect that.. I don't know rtoc wish I had the answers
Well I think it's the date change that has affected Alot of people September seems to be a bad month for alot of people
