First post!
Morning everyone...
I am a new member from the High Peak just outside Stockport.
I currently drive a 1 owner Renault 19 16v cabriolet in black on 18's as my daily driver and luckily just got my hands on a 1988 low mileage pearl white Renault 5 GT Turbo, totally standard and un-modified. The 5 has no tax or MOT and has been sat on a drive for 12 years so could do with a part restoration which I am looking forward too.
5 years ago I was the mechanic at PCS Scotlands Renault turbo specialist's working on 5's, 9's, 11's, 21's etc...
It was a good job but working doing your hobby in my opinion just ruins it so I decided to leave and join the Railway instead. 5 years on I now live in a small village just outside Stockport and I am the Senior Techinical Officer for Network Rail's Manchester East section taking care of all the surveys/designs/clearances across Manchester and the High peak.
I have owned numerous 5's, pearl white, tungsten grey, gold, driven a good few and broke up even more (unfortunately), I still part own a Phase 2 Renault 9 Turbo aswell which is sat in PCS gathering dust and half way though a build.
I am in the process of getting my own workshop in Marple just outside Stockport to take on the 5 project which hopefully won't take that long. My 19 16v cabriolet will be sat along side where it will stay over the winter as my little 106 diesel becomes the everyday car.
Once the workshop is up and running anyone's welcome to come in for a bit of Renault chat and a coffee on the passing, it would be good to make some friends in the area.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Billy
