what route is being taken m62 m1 or woodhead then m1
I'm honestly not sure what route as I haven't looked at the planner yet I expect it'll be M56 a M6 though.....
alex once you have a route let us know. as it will save me back tracking. i had a quick look the other day on the best way there from stockport it was showing woodhead or chesterfield being about 75 is miles and m62 100 miles. all 3 routes show a 2 hour drive time
Are we better off heading towards sheffield rather than going right the way round? cuts 20 miles off and only adds 5 mins, i think id rather drive that route than sit on a motorway?
Via the A616
im in runcorn need to look at the roads as im towing the 5 less hilly and bendy the better
I'm easy what route we take as long as we don't take all day getting there - I want a BBQ and few beers! I've had a breif look on autoroute but as I say I'm easy.
Roy et al, where would be a convenient place to meet up with you? If I remember rightly we met you at a service station somewhere last year?
im easy can meet anywhere just tell us what route is being taken and ill work out where to meet up.
I'm in for the convoy, Friday booked off work.
Tony do you think you can fit a oil service in For me on the Friday before we set off, ??
Right-o. For those travelling down on the Friday we'll meet at the Little Chef in Eastham near the M53 at 10:00 am.
Looking at the route on AA Route Planner we'll be heading onto the M56 then onto the M60 at J1. Then A57 until the A628. Then A616/A631

Im going to suggest this as a bad idea, in terms of kepping everybody together over the wood head etc (obviously depending on car going on thefriday i suggest the motorway) it might be quicker point to point, but in real terms theres more chance of getting stuck behind things going that way.
In my tanker driving motorway experience opinion
Al, have you got sat nav? We can follow you if you lnow a better route
Fair enough we'll head that way then
Sounds good to me ive no doubt we'll all get lost anyway so planning is probably a waste of time Anyone rememeber our last red arrows moment when alex dived off the motorway and gibbo was nailing it past us all? lol
We're leaving our end at 10:00 am so should be around there at 10:30 ish?
thats a great excuse for having the full day off work ill get me self there for just before.
Full day at blyton??? we'll have to think of some entertainment
Anyone meeting in the morning??
Yes I'll be there, will have to leave in the afternoon though
Just spoke to rob, meeting place changed as no other takers for lymm. If anyone else NW wants to meet first thing Sat AM then let me know.
