I need to get my carpet like that, looks really well especially with retro stereo - Ive just taken the pioneer out of mine in favour of a sony cd player. I cant be doing with tapes!
I used a pressure washer and some carpet shampoo. It even needed a soft wire brush in some bad areas, takes ages to dry tho! I hope you have put your pioneer into storage. I wouldnt have wanted to remove one from a car as original and un touched as your new one, but i do understand about tapes tho if its your daily
Fantastic car you have here mate, and love the touches like original stereo plus I see you got a little section in PFCM
Looks sweet Jonny. Uber jealous of your interior! O.e gear knob ftw
Hmm could be an original then (model no is KEH-2430B) Instructions though are dated 1991. I took it out ok all nice and neatly plus tidied up all the wires - owner of mine didnt take up the option of rear speakers. Although wiring is there but with cardboard inserts where the speakers go!
Cars coming on ok, I need to really take all the interior out and give it a really good clean to the standards of my last R5. Then replace the parts that need attention (which is very little). What is great on this new R5 is how all the switches light up as they should etc
Glad you like the springs - I couldnt get on with them and called the car at the time the boneshaker! Jon sorted that with some -30mm springs which made the ride much better!
Was you running just on lowering springs or the uprated shocks too?
I cant tell much difference in ride quality between 35mm and 50mm springs on my apex shocks if im honest.
Im sure it wont take you long to sort the new car out if your last resto is anything to go by.
Thanks mate. They could have took the time to correct the errors and punctuation mistakes from my email. The spec sheet is just a cut and paste from my profile off here! Ah well cant complain
You be buying a copy of magazine make sure you keep it safe. I had a featured escort some years back and lent or lost all copies. Nice feature mate, one to tell your kid about when she grows up.
Lovely stuff the thing I love about these motors is the respect u get from the older generation etc, people who had them new etc, and was out in me mates pearl white one one time, driving thru town on a sunny day, windows down, caught up in a bit of traffic, we see a fella cutting trees with his young- ish son and said to him, " look at that boy, I had one of those, it's was the bollocks" lol we laughed. Still respected today. Good times.
Ive had my 5 about a month now and ive had loads of people my dads age saying. I used to have one of these lol. Or this was my dream car when i was your age! Does this make me cool? lol
I remember an old buying guide article that was in the back of a copy of Redline or Max Power magazine from probably 10years ago,it was before i could even drive. I thought the last line of it summed up the 5GTT perfectly,
"Make sure you own or drive one before you die"
that bodywork looks seriously straight, got a few bits to touch up on mine but seeing that makes me just want to get mine fully sprayed
Awesome weather so far this weekend. Had a whole day putting more miles on. More driving to come tomorrow.

Wow, that paintwork is flawless !
Love it!
Had a bit of a tidy up of the engine bay this afternoon. Finally got round to doing the cup mod and tweaking the fuelling further too. Getting near enough flat 12s at WOT now so quite pleased and she pulls like a train in any gear!

Cars been running good for a while now. Its set at roughly 15psi but the standard actuator is struggling and doesnt seem to hold it well.
So i've purchased an Ebay bargain used -31 actuator off a saph cos for £10! Im waiting for it to turn up so i can fit it this weekend. Then aiming to hold 17psi ish, maybe more if the fuelling allows and det stays away
With the car getting used more, obviously it was getting dirty. So i asked for an Autobrite Snowfoam Lance for my birthday off my parents
Before, Dirty!
During!
Still playing with the bottle mixtures and settings. Im getting a good foam but not much dwell, but it did do a really good job of getting all the crap off before a normal wash.
No afters as it p1ssed it down

Love that first pic
Congratulations on your win! After all the work you've put into this car i'm glad it got recognised.
Wish I could have got up to see it and meet everyone, next year I hope!
