has anyone put a retro roof rack on the five? was thinking about doing it on my gordini with retro luggage/ kite board but been told it may bend the roof guttering:/
as you can tell having spent so much on a spray job this is a big no no!
this is the roof rack intended ( it will be cleaned up )

i wouldnt bother mate, the roof rack boat has sailed, and is currently docked up at no-mans land harbour along with the good ship 'bad boy bonnet', the tanker 'whale tail spoiler' and the speedboat named 'flip paint'.
having said that, i bought an american roofrack for my 5 several years ago, which didnt use the guttering...you had to drill into the roof! - needless to say i never fitted it and sold it to a mini owning mate....

OK thanks for the advice I'm gonna sell it to some vw mad person they always like rat look for some reason:/
they also wear flip flops, shorts and have blonde bits in their hair, when they are well into their 40's.
try tying a fox tail to it and stick a few maltese cross stickers on it. it'll boost they price up by at least 50quid.
remember, it's cos im a cool dubber.....

I used to have a camparse that the sills nearly touched the groundlooked brilliant didnt take bumps too well tho.
