Finally got out to paint the grill, and lacquer it.... inbetween the rain...
Not come out to bad considering it was very rushed & did it the back garden with little/none protection for dust, flys etc.
The SLR is on charge, once the car is back home and had a clean I will show upload a few more pics of some updates....
Btw anybody interested in the orange wheels let me know... may also sell my 285mm disc brakes & exenders...
Went to see the car today as its at a mates garage....
Hoping to get the issue that stopping it from running sorted this week...
I took some photo's of it today...looking abit sorry for itself...
Far to many shades of red going on... Have ordered a brand new front bumper from renault... I am getting the car fully repainted, kit off, any rust treated, painted and get the car looking OE...
Would consider fitting a C1J... So if anybody has a good spare engine bay going cheap message me
The car is running, going very nicely indeed....
As you can see far to many shades of red going on
Will also need to repaint the inner boot/maybe fully inside
Very rough paint around the windscreen surround.... Although no rust & feels solid

Need to sort out some minor electrical gremlins
A few more electrics to sort
A battle scare from a previous life.... New bumper is in the shed awaiting the respray....
Is this for sale yet?
The more finished they are the harder they seem to be to sell. People would rather spend 2k on a car that needs work than 3k on one that's sweet. A quick lick of paint and yours will look ace.
Bonnet & grill off
Front cross member removed
Bumper remove & Now time to sort out the wiring loom
All work is been carried out by matt@coderedmotorsport
R1 carbs going in then
Who quoted you those prices for paint??
As I need mine done soon
I had a bloke down from me in sittingbourne spray mine for £700 that included flatting back then a coat of sealer, then flatting back then a blow over using ICI solid paint, i think if it was base then clear it would have been £1000, i only had the sealer put on because i tried painting the car using cellulose, was ok for engine bay and interior but not outside ive got his number if you want it Liam.
Its a tight fit... But it will do
So in a nutshell....£500 gets you a below par spray job.
Dont get me wrong for £500 i wouldnt excpect a show winning paint job..... But for me i dont want that nor do i want to spend £1000's on my car
The bloke who quoeted me £500 for a full blow over works for panelcraft in ashford but can use the paint booth over the weekends.....
The over weekend he did an aston martin (passenger wing & door) for £300 and you couldnt spot the difference....
Went to see Matt Last week, dropped of my Buckets & Harness... engine bay is looking alot tidier... & wiring is getting sorted... as for the wiring under the dash..
As you can see its getting sorted aswell
Its all about the track slag
Another update from Matt, Love how he updates you, lets you know any problems, I offer to buy new/replacement stuff & he says "no I can fix it or sort it out and save you a few ££", he aint out there to con Members.. highly Recommended
Dash Loom needing serious amount of work
Ignition Barrel needs replacing & wiring... abit of a hazard
The car on the new ramps
Matt loves electrics, wiring looms
Its in the right hands
Cool!
Orange wheels really emphasise the fade in the paint and don't do it any favours.
I agree, got a set of Hocks to put on this soon, just got to collect them from Bigfoot.... Will keep the orange ones & respray them silver & keep them as a 2nd set.
I am looking for a Head Up Display speedo & an incar cam (any recommendations guys?)... Most likely get a bullet cam or 2
Perfect. See you on track in a month and a half!
