Well it's been a while since there has been any progress. Hired a van last nite so I could bring all the stuff from briggsys to mine, didn't take him long to get the ball rolling. Engines in now, just needs the loom/hoses all putting together so hopefully be all done soon
Here's a little pick a took off me phone il upload some off the camera later

Absolute minter, looking really good.
What type of air filter do you have, I want something similar to what you have, is it a K&N jobbie?
Engine bay is looking very nice, keep up the good work
Coming on nicely going to be alot of minty 5s on the road this summer!
few more pics off the camera
hopefully have most of it done on sunday
Very Very nice and tidy.. nice bay
Looking nice and fresh, all the works paying off
At this rate you'll be back on the road before me
Enjoy starting it for the first time, such a wicked feeling
Keep the pics coming...........................
Not a great deal to get it back on the road - just come in from working on it -
Sort out: 2 x Oil leaks - Fiddle with Lights electric - get the bonnet back on and the front bumper
Theres still a long list of things that i want to do, but some if not most can wait till winter again......
Good luck tmrw, hope you get things moving
very nice work mate
Cheers lads
Well last Sunday got a some more work done, oil cooler and rad done, just needs the cooling system setting up with a few other things. Got the t2 back on for running it in, my t25 is probs going to need a rebuild there is a bit of play in it. The engine has had new liner seals fitted (cheers Briggs) so hopefully should run sweet. Iv bought a front mount cooler but not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, il be using my gttuning breadbin for the time being, iv painted it satin black it looks oem. Extended the filter as it's a very tight fit with the cooler there.
Here how it looks at the mo, not long now
Just bought some black boost hoses as well
Cheers Benj.
keep them coming
Looks mint mate
no problemo mate hopefully we will have it running if we get down on thursday
Not sure mate it's a uk seller on eBay but i think they are the same ones. My other hoses are spot on like, are yours ok no problems?
Speaking of lottery I was in the car earlier looking to see if I had any euro tickets lying about because there is an unclaimed ticket from county Durham lol, thought my luck was in but it wasn't
if you win billions...........remember my efforts on my 5 Nut & bolt rebuild you say??
My hoses have been spot on, i have fiddled with the bleed nipples - added a better washer to the inside and a drop of silicone....so fingers crossed no probs what so ever
As said keep them pics coming, and keep up the good work - from those pics the car is looking mint
Sexual.... Great work mate, looks fantastic.
Fantastic work mate
Well done on building such a great 5, how did you get the carpet so clean or have you renewed it
Cheers lads
The carpet was re newd at some point there's a recipt in my history, but I always keep on top of it hoovering and conditioning it
evening chaps
had briggs round yesterday putting all the last pieces back together, started up first time was great to hear her running again.
its had a lot of time and money and its finally there, well the engine bay ha, theres still an on going list.
rolled it out tonight with the weather been nice, gave it a wash and a few pics in the light.
heres a pic of the bay when i first got the car, the bay was absolutely coverd in oil and muck, the pic doesnt show how bad it was.
i wanted to keep the bay looking pretty oe with some subtle mods.
nice subtle mod with the breather system, used the bracket for the degassing pot to hold the oil catch tank fits in nicely
was nice to see it with out a ton of dust lol
just needs a few little things doing now, change the choke bracket clip, raise the header tank a bit, re torque the head, add more coolant and think thats about it. also think il cut down the dumpvalve piece a bit its a bit long lol. going to tax it on friday
massive thanks to briggsy, hes been a big help with this car! also scott hes gave me a lot of help as well, bob and trev too. thanks to mike for helping out with parts and being reliable.
cheers, benj

Spot on
Looking foooking sweet - All the effort coming together
Excellent work, some of the effort that goes into these cars is awe inspiring.
Awesomeness!
Spot on mate love it looks absolutely mint again great work
Not sure if this has been mentioned before Ben but in the winter you might find that the lack of water through the carb base can cause the throttle to stick open partially. It usually goes away when fully warm but it's a right pain in the process.
It has to do with the carb base and throttle spindle being made of different metals and warming/heating up at different rates. The spindle gets pinched and sticks.
See how you get on. If it happens, at least you'll know what it is.
