No im not talking about your mum!
I'm just wondering what all the hype is about this screamer talk? what is it where does it go? i know its something to do with the wastegate/turbo! i want my 5 to be a scremer!

put your misses in the passenger seat or a female friend and take her for a hard boosting session round some country road. I`m sure she will more than be screaming then!!
I had one on my skyline i fooking hated it.
just makes it sound like the exaust is blowing.
waste of time an effort...
well i must say each to there own ive got one on my 5 and it sounds the boll**cks. and friends tell me they have seen the odd flames spitting out on full boost befour. well worth the work imo.
there in the same league as d'valves....
what i mean is there not really needed.....
These are fairly good links to explain what it actually is, as nobody has really said yet lol

id have to be proven wrong especially with one fitted to a 5...is it really gna make a whole lot of difference? ,ferrari f40 the yes..
also going to make track days a no go area with noise restrictions.
more noise does not mean more power.
Its not all about the noise, its about how well it controls the boost levels.
Madfive have you ever fitted or owned a car with one. Sure one of the old audis came from factory with them.
so for a quieter operation how does it effect performance with it going back into the exhaust just before the cat? ie no screamer...
5 doesnt have a cat? going back in to the exhaust after the turbo would work too, and obviously reduce noise.
how are people with screamer pipes installing there wideband sensors?? and monitoring fueling?
dont see why it wouldnt be street legal on a 5, no cat so not increasing emissions, if it re-enters the exhaust system. if it is coming out of a seperate pipe i geuss there would be noise restrictions and placement restrictions? i doubt many mot testers are going to experience it opening anyway
yeah i was thinking that after i wrote it lol.
You don't need an external wastegate, you could get a new down pipe made which separates the penny valve and the exhaust wheel.then you would just have a screamer pipe at the wastegate side
