    TDC sensor

just bought a new tdc sensor as my old one was a bit of a get me home job. the new cable looks a bit short, does it perhaps have to connect to another plug before cnnecting to the coil unit? thanks

    Re: TDC sensor

The ph1 has a long lead all the way to the aei and the phase 2 has a joint above the turbo then into the aei

Sounds like you have got the phase 2 cable to which yes there should be another cable with grey connector on the end coming from the AEI through the firewall into the engine bay .

    What phase is your 5?

Phase two, I was missing the other end. Ordered a phase 1 sensor K Tec said it should fit the AI all right though.

O.E ph1 aei's are positioned above the turbo. Most people move them to the ph2 position, which is a good thing to do, but you may then find that the/a ph1 one-piece lead doesn't reach.

Just done a similar thing, 2 types listed for my 5 got both types from euro, one was really short and both had male plugs and i needed a female lol. i had to use some sealed connectors(so i could disconnect it without having to chop it)
