    Smart

I bet at some point in the future, once you're over the cost/effort of the current set, you'll be changing those seats Bric

Re: Renault 5 GT Turbo undergoing lots of work :)

Done a few small jobs on the 5 today:

    • Fitted un-painted gutter strips (old ones were a bit knackered - had a few cracks and scrubs on them)
    • Fitted standard steering wheel with paint removed, and polished boss
    • Fitted parcel shelf / associated plastics
    • Fitted Renault badge
    • Fitted new number plates (old ones were knackered)
    • Gave it a good clean

    Pics:

Also.. this is the ride height after lowering the torsion bar. Not gone down much I know, but I'm not a big ridiculously low look (sorry Spooky )

Nothing particularly amazing - just sorted an issue with the 5 today... Fuel pump relay wasn't connected properly! Went for a short drive and my friend took some photo's for me

Not sure. I bought it from CGB. Bought it with very little service history, so I couldn't tell you where it came from before there.

    Bought a couple of stickers:

Also buying some Turbines off Brigsy. Should look good, and should sit in the arches better so I can lower it a little more

New alloys fitted... Think they break it up a bit more. It's a very modern colour, and the wheels were a bit too modern and in your face I think, so going to try and tone it down a bit.

    Next jobs are:

    Fit front grille badge
    Fit spoiler
    Fit rear badges

I'd also like a new drivers side door (current one doesn't fit very well.. a new door was used when the car was painted, but it doesn't seem to fit very well.. maybe a patent part?) but that would mean painting it, and there are a few other bits I'd like to get painted, so think I'll wait and save a bit of cash and get it all done together

    Nice work
what do you mean the door doesn't fit very well? personally i'd play about with the hinge side of things again first, or latch. It might be a ballache but if you buy a new door will be left with the exact same problem, only this time it will probably need painting blending into wings and rear quarter depending on if you've got the exact same paint that was used to paint the car, even then its likely.... I bought 2x brand new doors for my black 5 in november so i'll get the recent prices later also..

I know what you mean mate, but the door I had before the paint job fitted spot on. It's really close at the bottom of the door, on the hinge end, and it scrapes if any grit gets inbetween the sill and the door. Also, you can see where the profile of the door should continue into the wing, it's wonky. The other side (which is the original door) is spot on. I don't have any adjustment in the hinges either.

I think it's a pattern part, and that's why it doesn't fit very well

Just been for the first proper spin since I fixed the fuel pump relay issue, and I'm so happy with the stage I've got the car to. I used to hate driving it, but I feel a lot happier now it's all coming together. Can't believe I considered selling it

Looking much better, was not a fan of your other wheels, turbines will always look good on a 5 gtt.

Fit some fog lights, rear spoiler and original badges and it will be looking great.

I think you should have left the triangular sections on the wing mirrors standard, just me but i don't like them colour coded.

Are you going to fit some side stickers?

    Keep it up

I think I should have too. At the time, I had the gutter strips colour coded also, but I've gone off that idea, and since gone back to non-colour coded strips. If I get any more paintwork done in the future, I'll probably get some mirrors done but leave the base plates grey plastic.

Its a bit of a chew but you can take them apart, if you could fine a decent unpainted set.

I had mine painted satin black to match my cage, so painting yours would always be another option.

    keep it up
