Fitted a mint set of powdercoated speedlines (Cheers Benj!), drives really nice with the stock wheels
Only a couple of jobs left to do before national day.

New poster! (less than 10 posts)
Why do people change the looks ???
Almost ready for national day
I have always been against expensive paintwork 'detailing' products but i had a few little issues with the paint on the gtt that the usual autoglym super resin polish wouldnt shift.
After reading a few reviews i decided to splash out & bought poorboys black hole show glaze, victoria concours wax & poorboys wheel sealant.
Has transformed the paint, took a lot of graft though!
Arty night shot with the dslr.
Now your just showing off
Looks great......... it is worth the effort i think once the bodyworks all polished up!
Brigsy, that looks the absoloute nuts mate
Poorboys ftw!! They should do air fresheners cos all their products smell lush! I was tempted to eat some of the wheel sealant before lol
looking sweet mate, credit to ya!!
That really is a fantastic car mate, A real gem
looks a right oem minter now with the speedlines on
Best at show ey
Mmm nice. I know I don't comment much but I read all these resto threads and it's brilliant to see all these OE 5's being brought back from the dead, even if it means I won't win anything
More pics!
In the first pic, the paint looks so good it's almost as if it's better than the day it came out of the factory. And maybe it is, because the car was probably never treated to any sort of specialist wax/polish/paint products when it was first sold and even if it was, they wouldn't have been a match for modern products.
Cheers all, i personally wouldnt say its mint as it has a few marks here & there, but vgc for a gtt knocking on the door of 20 yr old!
Agreed Trev, the cleaning/polishing products available now compared to even ten years ago are awesome. The car probably only got a quick lash over with the buffer before leaving the factory as new
Ok its been a while since I updated this!
Was invited to bruntingthorpe for a photoshoot with other renault hot hatches last november with Redline mag, the feature is in this months copy. Done 0-60 in 6.9 secs & 130mph on the 1.25 mile with the datron timing gear Faster 0-60 than the new clio rs200
I done 3 runs down the 1.25 mile back to back and booted it around the handling course, worryingly when i pulled up the o.e heatshield was smouldering away like a good'en Cant handle 1bar of boost eh?!
Dug my dslr out for some night shots lastnight in front of the transporter bridge in middlesbrough.
All you need in that pic is a coffe cup and copper coins
Class mate, me you and Scott should get some pics of the tungys together
if my tungy turns out half as good as this i'll be chuffed. awesome car, best colour too
seen in redline look a stunner good work
Cheers all Im still chuffed that i lashed the clio rs200 on 0-60, even on the old uniroyals
Long time no update eh!! Has been faultless, only needing regular servicing/cleaning in 2011. Laid it up for winter end of october. Weather seems pretty mild so got her out the garage and give her the first proper run out for 2012 last sat. Covered in dust and needs a clean but apart from that no problems at all
Small vid of it running.

Stunning! Mate and she sounds sweeeeet!
Looking stunning mate, would be good to get all the tungys parked together at National Day.
Nice car rubbish music.
Stunning!
Engine sounds so sweel as well.. I didnt think it was possible for c1j's to be so quiet
So lucky
I should have put some old skool happy hardcore on for the vid if i can get a driver ill bring it to nd this year, didnt do any shows in it last year at all was a shame really.
Possibly up for sale soon. Needs to be used and not stuck in the garage all year round!?
You crazy! Keep her forever and just like that! Love it.
You just want another slag
Tbh mate i just fancy releasing some money, ive got the van to hoon about in and that barely gets used these days.
Booked the gtt in for a last min mot yesterday, passed no advisorys Give it a clean up and took some pics. Cant wait to tax it on 1st of may and use it.
Love it mate makes mine look shabby!
Love this car, hopefully I will be able to get mine to a similar standard
Another small update, the battery was fried after being layed up since november. It was getting a bit tired last year but always seemed to start so time to change it. Fitted a new battery today (036 for £30 new, cheap as) it has made a massive difference in starting, starts after a couple of cranks now and the dash lights are so much brighter.
I opened the battery terminals up and fitted them over the poles properly as they weren't on fully before and overtightened (not my doing) and now the oil pressure gauge has started working properly again as it was always reading around 1 bar, the clocks also seem more responsive overall. Could have been due to this, duff battery or co-incidence?? who knows.
Poor earth on the battery could cause issues.
That's what i thought Tony, typically ive never had the earth clamp off the battery since i changed the engine years ago.
looks mint pal top job
