Bling bling ... very nice ... but could you not get a brighter orange?
maybe a thermostat too ?
what made you go back to belt driven waterpump?
main reason was reliabilty/cost those elec water pumps arent cheap also looks alot neater with the hose kit
didnt realise i was logged in under my dads name
Why is the inlet plenium so small?
it holds a tad over 1.4 litres thats inclueding the inlet necks,it was previously a log type inlet before and it held 1.8litres then
Looks awesome matey, out of interest whom made or where did you get the alloy rad cover???
cheers mate the cover comes with the pro alloy grill mounted intercooler
very nice!!
dont you have more pics of the intake manifold ?
thanks, i dont have any more pics but i will get some of the variouse bits and bobs
Looking very bling Blinger

its top secret but your welcome to have a guess
oh yeah, scoff your barred from playing the guess what engine game
is that a jap engine?
4efte
Scoff told me about this... interesting build.. whats happend to all the old set up?
starlet/glanza?
4e or 5e?
4e for the time being
That was on the cards ever since Northallerton innit
ok, heres some more pics that i promised
quelle et ce moteur ?
en tout cas , superbe travail !
which and this engine?
in any case, superb work!
It's a 4efte out of an Toyota starlet/glanza
Looks sweet mate, nicely done. Will it be making an appearance at the pod??
Wish it was, there's still a bit of work to be done + wiring and mapping.I will be at national day though(hopefully)
id like to know, when doing exotic engine conversions like this ie, using an engine not originally designed for the vehicle. what are the key factors you should be looking at to get the engine to "fit"?
i always found myself thinking "could i fit this engine? could i fit that engine?"
out of interest, is it possible to take for example, a lancer engine complete on its subframe and somehow bolt the lot to where the r5's subframe would be? obviously i assume its not as easy as that.!
also how do you go on with driveshafts etc?
Awesome work, nice job.
I loved the car with the toyota engine
raj, anything is possible mate.
it's usually the gearbox that causes most of the problems. Whether or not to use the engine with it's original sub-frame depends on the application. either way one would have to tackle a series of problems.
there are good examples on RTOC to take inspiration from, Scoffs VAG conversion, Matts F4R conversion and dare I say it my own F4R conversion to name a few...
Steve, excellent project mate
Nice work, I LIKE I think I brought your old intercooler from ebay
thankswas it the grill mount?
managed to bag me self some recaro pole positions and get rid of the rocking chairs.which i think made scoff nervouse when mapping
also put my new renault sport sabelt steering wheel on.as it was gathering dust on top of the wardrobe.makes the intereior a bit more pleaseing to the eye now
Hey.Just a few question if you don't minde
What was the convenes that make you to choose this engine? From what i now it's a 1.3liter engine, yes???
I'm just curiose to now what make you to do this conversion insted of the usual Renault engine conversion made.
The exotism, light engine and possibility of tune range??
Any way nice work and waiting to see some figures
the main reason was that my brother had a glanza.and it was so fast on the private road, think the only car that beat him was a lotus exige(supercharged honda engine)and that only pulled 4- 5 car lengths, and it never let him down,it just loved punishment
also at 1-1.1bar alot of the starlet/glanza guys seem to be getting trap speeds of 105-110mph(depending on set up) and that seems pretty good to me.considering there a bit heavier than the gtt
