Got any Koni's laying about Ricardo?
Well Ricardo popped down on saturday and spent the day here just chatting....
Also dropped of the orange wheels which will save the standard wheels & tyres from day to day abuse as there just going to be for show.
Also Ricardo managed to part with this mint genuine towing eye cover, so i am a happy bunny....
Everything is nearly there, somebody must have a standard front bumper for sale, or willing to part with these front bumper strips??
Well today is a good day for ghost...
Got bored with my standard rear shelf that i got from jesus...

My local renault garage sorted me out with these after many phone calls & emails to parts departments over the uk and my guy finally came up with these..

So i now i have...

new front bumper
new bumper strips
new grille
genuine towing eye
all i need is an original renault diamond badge... anybody got a mint/new one for sale?
Mike phase I has them new the front badges, think they were about 16 quid.
I should have done it years ago. Or should I say that I should never have ruined it in the first place?
Any more pics mate ?? i need some front bump strips but aint paying loads of dosh , can u still get them from renault if i try hard enough ???
Well Ghost is back at home, needs another good clean, strip the interior, take body kit off, look for rust and treat as needed, maybe remove the engine, get the car to a bodyshop with new bonnet, bumper, grill & sort out the rust on the door, respray the whole car, I will then refit body kit, put interior back in, sort the engine bay out(replace hose's, put anti perc fan back etc, put engine back in, underseal the car, mot, tax & insure...
Deadline 2012?? I hope to get it all done by this summer, maybe for ND but unlikely.
Yesterday I spent a few hours cleaning some old wheels & resprayed them in alloy silver, looks alot better in the flesh.
Have brought a few more things from renault such as grill badge, plastics for the engine bay etc... Need to sort out a drivers seat (just the material but full seat maybe easier to get)
looks good buddy , i have a brand new phase 2 drivers seat....ohh and i dont own a phase 2......., looks like youll be calling me soon, nice wheels..
Got Ghost home this week and looks like the winter rest hasnt done the old girl well
Still no rush to get the car done & that wont happen til I get a job
But I am doing the little jobs that dont require cash and something to pass the time..
Rust pics..
Pulled a tree's worth of leave's from here...
Rotten door, anyone got a spare white door in good condition?
abit of rust appearing in the rear quarter window panel
Luckily I have brand new bonnet, wing's, bumper, grill's, bumper strips & badge for the front
I get the feeling new sills maybe required...
Started on the interior today,
Removed all seats, seat belts and centre consol etc...
Removed the carpet, the sound deadening underneath is mouldy and very damp ( got a leak somewhere odds are around the heater matrix)
As for the red carpet, its heavily stained and greasy
After a quick hoover
A very quick wash later...
Abit more elbow grease over the week and try some more chemicals and hopefully will look alot better
Good luck with this, white gtts are the dogs
great work mate , can you pm me the details of the alloy wheel spray ,
looks like there will be a few white restores on the go
Well after another clean yesterday the carpet looked like this..
Still heavily stain, so today of to tesco with the carpet in the boot, jetwashed it, took it back home and used the carpet cleaner on it again (3 times now) and look at the crap that has came out of it after all these wash's still
Now looks alot cleaner, still some markings, but considering the carpet is orginal and bill has transport engines & various parts for people its not come out to bad...
Ah Penfold...A man after my own heart...its quite obvious all this car needs is a good dose of elbow grease!! What a fine job your doing!!
When it comes to the 3rd or 4th layer of wax polish you will feel proud........AND tired!!
Dont be fooled by the clean looks of the car, there is rust, alot of rust to sort out, but nothing no repairable, even if I weld in a new floor pan its do-able... & a full respray, if your going to do it, do it once and do it right!!
I am just doing the cheap, oddss & sods jobs whilst I have no job, once I have a job the car will go of to the body shop...
I think that's a pretty amazing effort looking at the first picture and comparing it to the last.
Well today I have stripped the interior, everything is out except for the roof lining, f*cking wiring behind the dash was a c*nt to do
Now do I attempt to remove everything in the engine bay, including the engine... even tho I dont like to get my hands dirty...
