This has only happened since i changed the hoses to blue ones
Im getting loads of blue smoke with any acceleration ... i kno its not the turbo as i baught a brand new one a few weeks back and i aint drove the car much.
Any idea's?

You changed ALL the hoses?
Make sure the oil breather jet is in place.......
aye all the hoses ..breather jet? ..is that a plastic type restrictor in one of the pipes?
does it go in a certain way? ...im running the cup mod too ...im hoping its as daft as it being the wrong way lol ..as i need the car to get to work 2mora morning
anybody know how the jet goes in? ....im desperate to sort it ..need my car for work 2mora ..my usual car is in the bodyshop ..thought i could use the turbo for work ..its really smokey help someone?!?
/need
.......just trying to remember if the Haynes book of lies shows where it is......
haha! i went out to my car to get mine just there
The more 'important' breather restrictor (as far as good idling) goes in the pipe that goes to the inlet manifold nrv.
If you're running the Cup spec breather system though, the restrictor(s) aren't used anyway.
Nah, as there'll be no oil present in that part of the circuit...well, unless there's excessive ring blowby pushing the oil into the separator pot & beyond.
Flop the old hoses back on for the time being and see if the smoke goes away....its got to be something silly.
Your not loosing any other fluids like coolant?
i cut one of the hoses to get the restrictor out as it was stuck
Classic symptom of turbo failure, but I'd certainly double-check the breather pipe plumbing before worrying about it being the blower potentially at fault.
ok ..wot u recon then? ..take restrictor out and see how it goes? ..the smoke's only happened since i put them blue hoses on ..which i thought was weird
If you take the restrictor out, the engine won't idle/it'll idle cr8p.
Cup breather setup is like this...
You could try that as a test, as at least that eliminates any pipe re-plumbing issues. Don't forget to block off the breather non-return valve on the back of the inlet manifold.
If it's still smoking afterwards, I'd then start looking at the turbo.
Standard breather setup has two restrictors as shown, they FIT INTO the t-piece and are held in place by the hose clips. But you obviously wont have any of this on your setup if you are doing it Cup stylee
nice pic ganjaman ..on that note ...im off to my bed ..getting up at 6am to sort this out ..so i can eventually get to work ..if not ...ill be phoning in sick
In that case, you don't (and shouldn't) need to run any restrictors then.
If you're sure the breather pipework is plumbed as it was before you removed the original hoses, I'd pull off the turbo-intercooler boost hose & check for traces of oil in there.
Was/is the breather pipe still in situ going to the turbo inlet/'telephone' hose?
nope theres no breather to telephone hose ...as i did the cup mod ..but obviously not right if the restrictor was in there
Ill let you all know how i get on ..think i might need to dig out the warranty for turbotechnics
In that case, yep, I'd definitely be checking ya turbo.
i sorted it! ..went out at 6am before work ...undid the jubilee clips ..were bloody tight ..looked at the t-piece and the plastic bits were squashed ...took restrictor out and i took it a drive ....and all is well
cheers people
edit -..also got it to work with no problems ..apart from the 2-3k missfire ..which i know is the dizzy gear ..one to sort at the weekend me thinks in the meantime just keep it above 3k or below 2k
